I keep seeing this post and I’m curious who exactly you want Thibs playing more? Their bench is horrible, if you think thibs is purposely keeping players who can help and be productive out of spite, thats ridiculous. I love those fans that assume know more than not just thibs but all the assistants. These coaches see what these “bench” guys are doing in practice and I can guarantee you they know more than any of us.
I did not say anything you just suggested. I did not say anything that didn't actually happen. You tell me how Kolek/Shamet/Hart/Precious/Mitch makes any sense. I'm open to suggestions. Tell me how playing the 4 weakest offensive players you have together with a 4th string rookie makes sense. I don't see it. Who is being put in the best possible position to succeed with that lineup? Then you bench the rookie who was coming along nicely the last 3 games for a player who hasn't seen a minute of action that mattered for us...ever. Maybe I missed where Kolek was the problem and not the rotation he used to blow a 14 point lead.
There's not having a strong bench. Then there's not doing what is best for the team/players to succeed. I think the latter is the bigger problem from the evidence I have seen. Can't defend without Mitch. Can't score or win efficiently without Brunson. Doesn't use the bench until multiple injuries happen. One trick pony show.
I don't even think this is a championship roster that he's holding back but, we can't even beat good teams with any consistency fully healthy. That's been a Thibs issue his entire career too though. Smoke leads to fire usually.
Sweeping denver and memphis? Beating minny by 30, winning the season series over indy. First there is no sugarcoating how bad they have looked vs cavs and c’s,
but to say they can’t beat good teams, is an exaggeration. This team is exactly where they should be, people who think this is some 60 win team is living in a dream world. The losses and how they have lost to boston and Cleveland leave a bitter taste no doubt, but regular season losses really mean nothing once the playoffs begin, records go 0-0. I want to see a fully healthy team if possible with the extended rest in a playoff series, and take the intensity up another level and see if they can.
We're 11-18 vs teams over .500. Again. Stop twisting my words. I never said we can't beat good teams. Then you go off with hyperbole about what you claim people think. Try dealing with what people actually say.
Regular season losses really mean nothing once the playoffs begin? What kind of nonsense is this? Are we gonna suddenly start beating the top teams simply because the playoffs began?
People are ok losing some regular season games. Especially if we are trying to work the bench in with the rotations to see what we can do if injuries should happen. No, we lose regular season games burning out and often injuring our starters and not using our bench at all. Then when we lose multiple starters we throw the entire bench in the floor at once while losing. Great coaching. All the good teams are doing this.
You want to see a fully healthy team with extended rest in a playoff series?

Your lips to the basketball gods ears.
Kolek/Shamet/Hart/Precious/Mitch.
