Yes, I liked what I saw... I also think they need something more proven... Claxton would be perfect, he's elite at catching lobs... but above all, he's also good at Bam, probably the most versatile 1/5 defender in the league.
The downside to going after Claxton is who the Lakers have to send back. He's making 25 mil, so it's a minimum 2, if not 3 rotation pieces in return.
The benefit of trading for a guy like Mark Williams, Walker Kessler, or Jalen Duren, is that it only takes Knecht as salary ballast.
Ditto for free agents Clint Capela, Jericho Sims, Kai Jones, Dwight Powell, and really, the Lakers need more wing and center depth more than anything else. I imagine free agents have the Lakers as the #1 destination for getting playing time and exposure if they can't land a suitable contract.
