Can either keep Sabonis and try to build a playoff team around him or look to flip him for additional value.

I think the team around Giannis in Sacramento makes some sense:

Monk/LaVine/???/Giannis/???

Do something like DeRozan + player drafted 13th for a wing or center that fits?

MIL only trades Giannis if he tells them he wants out. And if MIL calls him to say he's going to SAC, then I expect he'd tell them that all of a sudden he doesn't want to leave anymore.

Celtics lineup would be:

White / Pritchard
Holiday
Hauser / Scheierman
Tatum / Horford (presumably re-signed)
Giannis / Kornet (presumably re-signed)

Pistons use their cap space to get some needed front court help on a short term deal. Bucks get an all star and a team's whole draft back. Presumably this would be an outcome that does well by Giannis going to a contender and reuniting with Holiday so something he could try to leverage his way into vs. some other destinations.

Horst would fart at his phone if he got this offer

I'm sure all these fans of other teams will certainly try to mental gymnastics their way into telling Bucks fans that they should just happily take whatever half-way decent collection of young players and picks for Giannis.

No one's giving up the kind of hauls like the Rudy Gobert and Paul George deals anymore? Huh? I must have blinked and completely forgot that the Knicks just gave up 5 unprotected firsts and a pick swap for *checks notes* Mikal Bridges a whole 8-months ago. This is Giannis we're talking about, not an expiring, 30-year old Pascal Siakam (three firsts). Get real.

OK, so only the ridiculous overpays count because that benefits your team. I know that isn’t really your argument, you are too smart for that. You are a great poster.

I am trying to say there is a middle road between the extremes on either end.

At the time, the Paul George and Anthony Davis trades were widely recognized as very fair for both sides

1) I agree, he's only leaving if he wants to, and it is not clear that will happen.
2) I disagree re: only going where requested, I think we will see some different forms of player movement under the new CBA where teams are more constrained with salary, etc.

Though they might feel strongly enough that they owe it to Giannis to send him where he wants to go, and I agree that this would not be Sacramento given the structure of their roster & reputation.

Clippers became the best team in the league after the PG trade. You are trading your future (picks and prospects) for your present

I'm not saying that MIL would cave and automatically send him where he wants to go. I'm just saying that I don't think this is like a Dame-POR situation where POR themselves probably wanted to move Dame and rebuild. They were truly just auctioning him off to the highest bidder and doing what was best for them. They didn't want Dame back. I think MIL will still want Giannis to stay. And that's a key distinction because it means that if Giannis isn't happy with where he's getting dealt to, the door is open to a return. Maybe Giannis wants to go to HOU, LAL, BOS, DAL, NYK, wherever... but if MIL tells him he's going to SAC my guess is he'd rather just stay in MIL which the team would welcome with open arms. That isn't always the case... in a lot of cases the player may be the one forcing their way out but often times the team is ready to move on as well once it gets to that point. I don't see that being the case with MIL. I think they'd hang on with dear life to keep hi and try to use a trade to a less desirable location as leverage.

Dame isn't walking away from 112M over two years.

Weak offer, tbh
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Memphis, OKC or Spurs seem like the best bets to me.

Houston probably doesn't match the best offer even though they can, Miami probably can't get there value wise, Orlando probably isn't ready for that next step yet.

Fill in the blanks ( )

(Team X) gets:
Ja Morant

Bucks get:
Zach Edey
(Team X Salary Filler)
Brandon Clarke
(Team X Picks/Assets)
(Grizzlies Picks)

Grizzlies get:
Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis/JJJ/Bane strikes me as figure the rest out later. Depending on the blanks, this may be the Bucks best offer too.

What would Houston give for Ja in the above deal?

I wouldn't do that, I don't particularly like Ja all that much or value him very much.

I like Clarke / JJJ quite a bit and Bane more than Ja

I just don't think the Bucks are too interested in trading him. Giannis is also a Euro, and they tend to be particularly loyal due to the sporting culture they grow up with. There's been like 1 Euro star demand a trade ever, and that was Kristaps on a comically dysfunctional Knicks team. He also wasn't really a star.

Giannis has won a title with the Bucks, and every time the media puts out rumours he just ends up extending. Does anyone really still think he's leaving Milwaukee? I'm doubtful.

Miami would likely offer something like Bam, JJJ, it's (likely) 2 #1s in 2025 and a pick swap in 2031.

ORL should be blowing Horst's phone for Dame if Giannis gets moved. He fits what they need perfectly.

Suggs/Black/picks

Seems like a good start. Plus whatever the haul you get from Giannis.

This is peak overvaluation. Amen is really good and an excellent prospect but multiple high quality picks would still need to be included to bridge the gap with Giannis.

I think you misunderstand.

I'm not trying to get Giannis for Amen, nor am I particularly interested in the overall perception of his value, because again, we simply aren't trading him.

This thread asked about the best offer for Giannis, and I made an offer, which now can be compared and contrasted against other offers. This thread exists because there is speculation that Giannis might soon end up on the block. It wasn't lets find a way for Houston to land Giannis, or let's find a fair deal for Giannis, it was make an offer for Giannis, which was done.

Now it seems we want to shift the thread to Milwaukee wanting to trade for Amen, which is 100% a different conversation. And, as he isn't available for trade currently, the price tag would obviously be unreasonable, as you correctly noted.

So again, I'm sure Milwaukee would love Amen, but they aren't getting him, and if they did, it would be in a deal at our valuation, not thiers.

But but but...then you won't get Giannis....good, perfectly okay with that outcome.

Amen is available for trade though. If Bucks said Giannis for Amen straight up then Rockets would send Amen in an actual rocket

I'm sorry but Ja, Edey and picks is a huge overpay for Lillard
