I'm sure they'd rather have Grant... but it's not just about PW and saving +/- half of his salary... getting their pick back is their best asset... it gives them a lot more financial flexibility and, above all, puts them in a very good position for a consolidation trade... (I think they're close to needing that, since the days of picking at the top of the Draft are probably behind them).tester551 wrote:Mavrelous wrote:Godaddycurse wrote:
you're aready stuck with grant, the q is would you rather keep grant or take kuminga for him instead.. neither isn't really an option here
Kuminga is gking to the Bulls, Blazers are getting PatWill/Carter/their 1st, 0 chance they say no IMO.
I'm not sure they would pull the trigger on a trade like that.
Admittedly, it is close - but Portland could likely value Grant's veteran leadership over taking on Pat Will's contract.
Bulls/Warriors/Blazers everyone happy?

Saving money, dumping Grant and getting the pick back? Easy yes for Portland.

We'd be better off just letting Kuminga walk than taking back Grant's awful contract.

Will see what he gets paid.
I expect instant buyers remorse.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

We get it, you think Kuminga stinks. Fortunately for you the Blazers don't have the cap space to sign him regardless.

I don’t think Kuminga stinks.
I think Pat Williams stinks, and he does.
I think Kuminga is an athletic but not highly skilled player that some team will overpay to acquire thinking he will become a star. I don’t think he has that kind of potential.
