This team sucks; here's my line up

Post#1 » by DuallyNoted » Wed Nov 6, 2024 10:17 am

How is the idea of Ayo, Coby White, Giddey, Patrick Williams and Jalen Smith so allergic to so many people?

this team is junk and these are part of the future. I'd rather play Sanogo over Vucevic. you're acting like white sox fans thinking we can get anything for our garbage and it's not happening. the ship sailing doesn't mean you need to dive after and sink.

I'm in a similar place, but I'd start Zach over Coby. I think he's a tiny bit better at shouldering the scoring load than Coby as a #1 option. It also boosts his trade value.

I could see that lineup after Zach & Vuc are traded, but not before.

I think you're acting like a White Sox proposing the Bulls lose a record amount of games for some pretend development...

That lineup is fine. I don't think benching Lavine or Vuc will work in the lockeroom and would end up causing more trouble than its worth. But certainly you can try to put that lineup on the floor time to time. In fact, I'd be shocked if they haven't played together.

The bigger issue I see with the Bulls lineups is a complete unwillingness to play with size. We haven't seen Smith at the 4 or PWill at the 3. The Bulls could put a lineup of Giddey, Ayo, PWill, Smith, Vuc on the floor and presumably, be much better defensively, But they never try it. It probably won't work b/c they don't even practice it. Bulls don't have much size, but no reason they always have to be so small.

Vuc is not garbage this season. He has been our most consistent player along with Zach.

Well... if Williams, Coby and Ayo are the future, we are screwed.

I'm all for Giddey, Lavine, Lonzo/Ayo, Matas and Vuc. Because I like to watch good basketball players.

It all boils down to Zach . He may have handcuffed the team for years some were oblivious and some let it be known .

Welp, what’s done is done. Had to watch Zach-Vuc show way longer than any basketball fan deserves.

Fortunately in my mind (and most people’s), there isn’t a substantial difference of ceiling between Matas and #1… or arguably anybody in the lottery. Sure dodged a bullet with Cody Williams… and sure caught a good one at #11 with Matas. With his Chicagoland/Lithuanian roots, I swear there might’ve been some deep play on AK’s end to get him to fall to the Bulls, cause even before the draft, I wasn’t comprehending how Holland and the French boys were better prospects than Matas (not necessarily worse either, just largely on the same plane).

It was a huge break for the FO. Drafting Cody or Topic/Carter would’ve been disastrous. The latter 2 might become good, but with their injuries, our direction and our guard rotation, we’d be frustrated and asset-less. Getting out of Zach’s deal for 26 expirings and our pick was another break. I guess Giddey panning out for Caruso makes 3.

Matas makes me feel better about this team’s core (if it’s gonna be Giddey and Coby).

Matas falling to the Bulls felt like an "ain't no way" thing to happen.

I know he was mocked earlier, but he realy didn't show much of what he's doing now last season.

The G-League Ignite had a pretty crappy track record of draft picks and it probably impacted teams' decision making more than it should have, I think Matas would've probably been thought of as the clear #1 if he played in the NCAA and got to dominate kids instead of struggle against professional atheletes.
