I never forgave him for it.

And I hold Woodson accountable for not dealing with it. He played him in spite of his drunk ass bricking everything in sight those playoffs.

Our undrafted pickup Chris Copeland was nailing his threes anytime he was on the floor and Woodson refused to replace JR with him until it was too late in the Indiana series. Terrible coaching.

Do you have a link verifying that?

That clip was out immediately after his late night partying during the playoffs.

Futhermore, how does that clip convey someone recovering from a throat punch?

Those are not the mannerisms of a person who just got whacked in the throat. It is clearly a badly hungover human with every sign possible from the nausea to the blurred vision and inability to focus.

I believe it was against Boston and he took a forearm to the throat It might have been a no call actually but, details aside I remember that incident and his reaction. I want to say it was against Boston...Terry was the guy who fouled him I believe. I don't trust my memory enough but he definitely took a shot to his throat. You can trust me if you want. That's all the proof I have.

PS It was probably the game he went out the night before. I believe that to be true as well.

Well, I believe your account of a throat punch, but I don't necessarily see it being tied to that image. I remember that clip circulating immediately after the matinee game where he showed up sauced.

So unless someone opportunistically used an earlier clip that looks like he's hungover to pin that on JR, I'm going to assume that is exactly what it looks like, a drunk who got no sleep and showed up to a game looking like he was going to pass out.

Regardless, JR was known to be out getting lit during the playoffs and he played exactly like you'd expect a sleep-deprived degenerate to play,

I supported RJ as a Knick but I almost wish I had stuck to my guns about him and just gone full hater. Not my style and I liked the guy personally but... I hated his play at Duke and the lack of feel never went away. He thought he was an alpha when he was maybe a #3.

My primary RJ POV these days is we were able to take a # 3 pick and see him turn into enough of an asset to help us secure a better player in OG.

I have no other strong sentiments about him simply because he wasn't bad enough to hate or good enough to love and there is no beef to be had because he caused no drama as a Knick which is hard to do over several seasons.

So, seems like a decent human and a solid professional; not sad he's not on my team any longer.

This thread is a fine place to discuss it thank you very much.

This. I didn't see the hype in the very beginning. I was jokingly calling him a bust after two SL games. His game did nothing for me. I just rooted for him to succeed and he seemed to have a little bit of talent. Wanted to be a Knick. Yada yada yada. Being that young I had patience with the kid. Crazy right? Glad he's gone and we got OG. End of story.

Should we do Julius and KAT now?

But we already knew he was a pure shooter with some playmaking ability. Would be nice to have that off the bench right now. Oh well.

I wonder if Grimes was hurt 23-24. The Pistons shut him down after 6 games. Thibs seemed to like him a lot the year before. Maybe he's not the toughest guy, but he can shoot and that counts for something. He's been over 38% from 3 every season but 23-24.

I don't know if anyone wants to talk about stuff from years ago, but I saw an article the other day that the Knicks had a deal worked out for Vince Carter, but they didn't like what they saw in his knee and cancelled the trade.

I don't think Carter would have turned the Marbury knicks into winners, so I don't think that would have made much difference, but Dolan said he regretted listening to the doctors and not doing that trade. Carter had 2 allstar selections and 5 solid seasons for the Nets.
