Who take the last shoot at clutch time?
Would like to got your opinion.
We are at clutch time, down 1 or 2. Who do you choose to take the last shoot? Run the last possession?
At that stage, mot of the clutch time is handle by ANT, obviously our best player but quite bad at clutch time....
My opinion : We need a 2, NAZ or ANT should attach the rim. We need a 3, Mike should take it ( 50% at 3 last 30 games).
Your thought?

I find the type of shot more concerning that who is taking it.
If Ant is closing, then no jumpers. Go downhill to the rim, either get a shot or foul, at best both.
Only take a 3 if down 3

OK, so maybe I'm a stubborn old man, but I still let Ant go with it. Based on his overall averages, he should come back to his mean sometime. In my mind, not through any contact or information I have received from the Timberwolves, maybe Ant is trying to hard in those situations to become "The Man" and is pressing.

If the defense collapses on Ant, then I am fine with the kick to an open Naz, Jaden, NAW, Donte, or Mike for 3. Agree that Ant should not be taking jumpers at clutch time.

If he has a clean look, then sure.
But he's not ever going to hit that "fadeaway, drifting to his left over 3 guys" shot that he loves.

A better question is who do you trust to have the ball in their hands in the final possession. To take care of it but also be able to take the shot if the play gets denied. I only trust one guy. Ant. He's clearly not the best at it, but he's all we got unless this team gets a whole bunch of discipline real quick.

No way, he still makes terrible decision. I give to Conley or the good Randle before Ant.

Terrible take again, as expected.

Option 1: Run a good play and take what the defense gives you. A few games back both Jaden and Randle were guarded by a single man on the left side. Get the ball to either of them and let them exploit the mismatch.
Option 2: Run a play for the hot hand or the favorable matchup. In either case a player has shown throughout the game an ability to score and make an impact. They are a good priority.
Option 3: Sweet spot shooting is a thing. Whether Jaden, Randle, or Naz, if you can get any of them in their sweet spot, I am good with it.
One final note. If we go away from Ant for a while, then defenses won’t overload on him, and then he can find opportunities to shoot some as well. Ant needs to show better judgment and more willingness to play team ball in the clutch. As it is teams know to add extra pressure to Ant who will consistently make the selfish and less successful choice.

For you it is. I just remember how many times Ant shot us out of games in clutch time. It's not important on your take of course.

I seem to remember in first and maybe even second year, Finch ran a few closing shot plays that were well designed. I few like we are seeing a lot less of it the last couple years.

I'm sure you'd trade Ant for Desmond Bane because he's more "efficient"

That would be an interesting conversation when Robin wants out of Minnesota to join the Joker.

After a full season of Ant never passing, and taking and missing last shots, just about any other Wolf should be wide open for the playoffs, with three defenders staying on Ant.
Edwards desperately needs to learn to be a threat to throw the lob to Rudy, to help the team, and to help him get more space.

Last night, ANT found Rudy a cpl of times for an easy dunk. Hope it last. This should be an automatic pass as ANT attract 2 or 3 defenders when he go to the rim. If he can improve and pass the ball to an open guy, Rudy or a guy open at 3, we have a good option here.
