Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
An old dear friend has a solstice tradition of making and sending a playlist to friends. This year it opened with the Pretenders covering the song Angel of the Morning from 1968 originally by Merrilee Rush. The power of either version is amazing.

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
Thanks AFM- for some reason when I posted the above from my phone,
it just displayed the link and not the video. I was just going fix it
from my desktop. I don't understand why it does that sometimes.
Hope you enjoy the vid.
PS
I've also now learned it was a big hit for Juice Newton in the early 80s.

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
Howdy y'all
My daughter Galia was 6 years old a few days ago, and “Guess I’m Afraid” is for her. ❤️
I wrote this song a few years ago, during a period between jobs (ironically, the same situation I find myself in now).
The song is about the fears I had back then—the fear of working so hard that I’d miss out on life itself, on my family, and on her childhood. It reflects the conflict between the need to provide for my loved ones and the anxiety of missing out on precious moments that will never come back.
I hope this song resonates with anyone who’s felt the struggle of finding balance in a world that asks so much of us—whether as a parent or just as someone trying to hold it all together.

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
I'm informed that the group of which I'm a member, Rick Landers and Heartland, has been scheduled
for 3 performances during the National Cherry Blossom Fest in a couple months. I think they like us.

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
I'll be down at the Tidal Basin later this afternoon
playing music on the ANA stage about 3 pm
with my friend Rick Landers. If you're nearby,
wander by and say hello.

Thanks for asking. Weather was good and we seemed to be well received.
Nice day.

And, while we're at it, a contemporary cover by Billie Davis, an English singer, as performed on a German rock and roll show!

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
But wait... Merrilee Rush's version was by no means the original. The song was written by Chip Taylor & first recorded by Evie Sands:

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
My favorite street performer these days is Leire, a busker in London. She's absolutely great. Here's a small example, but you'll like her whole channel I am sure:
