Perfect time for Pop to step down officially and the Spurs to hand the reigns to his former Assistant Coach. Perfect timing tbh.

Yup, the #1 team in the East has been doing this very thing, all season, I'd say it works in a marathon not sprint season.
Cavs just went on a 4 game losing streak and didn't feel the need to fire Kenny Atkinson with 2 weeks until the playoffs lolslick_watts wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:*checks notes*slick_watts wrote:taylor jenkins seems like a decent coach but that whole "don't play anyone 30 minutes per game" schtick the grizz were doing this year has never worked. players (especially star players) don't like it and when you lose games the first thing anyone's going to look at is 'how come bane didn't play more' or whatever. pop was able to get away doing this a couple seasons, but the last guy besides him to try it on a decent team was hubie brown also on the grizzlies back in the day and he was also canned. it's just not done for a reason.

everything works when you're winning.

The timing of the Jenkins firing makes zero sense.

But they did fire Bickerstaff after the team made the 2nd round and lost to the Celtics without 2 of their 4 most important players. Now obviously as we see it may have appeared to be a Mark Jackson/GSW situation where the team was maxed out with Bickerstaff as coach but it still was kind of stunning because he didn't have a healthy squad in the series they were eliminated.

Which rotations and coaching decisions did he make that were so bad?

For those who are not familiar with Iisalo, he basically turned all the teams he coached in Europe around and made them winners.

He would bench guys when they were hot. Lost games doing that.
