Why does KAT catch the ball 30 feet from the rim and iso his man so often in games?

Is this just now that Brunson is gone? How is that good offense? I guess he's such a good shooter that the threat from 3 opens up the drive, but there's gotta be a better way to set him up to score.

We don't use our bigs to set screens for whatever reason, it's why you almost never see KAT get any threes off a pick. The offense is extremely crude, with or without Brunson. The only difference with Brunson is that we have an elite shot creator so it works better, but it's still the same basic thing.

What I don't understand is in some instances we use Hart as a screener and then in other situations we don't. Teams are playing there slow plotting center on him to clog the paint we could use that to our advantage.

Have Hart do what Draymond does for Steph off ball. Mikal is good enough with the ball until Brunson comes back where you could back screen or stagger screen KAT's guy and because teams play so far off Hart it forces the big to come up because the player Hart is screening will have to fight over screen which gives KAT two options...he either gets free for a shot (ideally a 3) or if the big in this case Lopez eventually comes out to help KAT can either get a switch back to a big which would be ideal...or if the bigs close out recklessly that is when he can get driving lanes.

You can use teams not staying connected to Hart because of his shot against them by screening for shooters.

Kinda embarrassing that Kolek only played 17 minutes while a vet who barely plays and isn’t that good got 30
minutes. I seriously can’t wait until we get a proper coach that isn’t too **** stubborn to give his rookies minutes.

I'm not mad Kolek only got 17 minutes. At least he got to play meaningful minutes against a playoff team, and not just garbage time. He's still a rookie so it's ok if he's brought in slowly. Would I rather he get more than 20? Yea, but 17 minutes is a good thing.

Even if he succeeded in becoming a rotation backup PG here, how many minutes do people think he’s going to play behind Brunson? Neither of them can play other positions. That’s the role he’d be in so it was good that he played well in it

your points regarding brunson are valid. Kolek best case scenario never is a 20 ppg guy here because of Brunson. But if he can thrive in the TJ McConnel role that would be great. Change of pace. Someone you can run an offense off the bench.

But if Brunson is out...and now McBride/Payne are also out you also don't have to cap his minutes if he's playing well. No one is saying Kolek should be playing over 20 minutes on a nightly basis with a fully healthy roster. I'm not even saying he would even crack the rotation. Specifically talking about our situation right now. The team was obviously playing well with him on the floor so just ride the minutes. When he's not playing well limit the minutes. Not rocket science.

I didn't point out Mitch earlier...I thought he looked his best today. He was active...agressive on the boards. Moving well

Very positive to see.

Kolek isn't better than Brunson, McBride and can't shift over to the 2 like Payne and McBride. 17 minutes is the best he'll play if he gets into rotation. They'll try to make him a cheap contract a la McBride.
