Re: The big man rotation
If we end up mathcing against Cleveland, I think we have to force one of their bigs off the floor.
We KNOW Mobley cannot guard Tatum, so Tatum has to be a PF in that series.
Forces them to go
C: Mobley
PF: Hunter
SF: Strus ? or Okorro?
SG: Mitchell
PG: Garland
To me that leaves them undersized and really hurts their defense a bunch. or hurts their offense with Okorro.

Tough to hate the Celtics 4 big combination. Porzingis alone with a negative net rating is a little strange.

I'd have to check but I think his January (or whenever that was) when the team was close to .500 ball for awhile is responsible there. Seems like a different thing for him more recently where he's really been back to what we hope he is.

Starting lineup w/ KP has been up and down at best. Majority of his minutes are with the starters. Monthly splits below:
Nov: 0, 33 mins
Dec: -12, 52 mins
Jan: +17, 160 mins
Feb: -18, 63 mins
Mar: 0, 12 mins

FFS just posted in the "Celtics sold" thread how valuable KP is and now you and your DAMN STATS make me question EVERYTHING!!
but I don't get this -- this is minutes per month with KP and the starting lineup -- how can it be 12 (and only 12) in March?

He’s a +51 in five games in March according to Bbref.

He may be +51 but he's -9 w/o any other big (no Q, no Al, no Luke) on the floor in March. Double big works wonders for KP.
The starting lineup w/ KP has only played 12 minutes (1 game) in March. We usually have a starter out, whether it's Holiday or Brown. I think White and Tatum each had a game off too.

Right, that makes sense I didn’t read that closely enough the second time through.
I actually hadn’t realized that, they’ve basically played KP as a PF since he came back is that the correct assumption there?

They've been doing it all year. If it's not the regular starting five, he's almost always had another big alongside him, usually Horford or Luke.
EDIT: Okay, not almost always. Here's the breakdown:
KP, single big, starting lineup: 680 possessions
KP, single big, non-starting lineup: 444 possessions
KP, with any other big: 1080 possessions

Bodes well for the playoffs I’d think as it’s much easier to do that w Al playing most nights. Though counterpoint is it would be good for flexibility to be able to play him single big more effectively.
I haven’t noticed, are these double big lineups bench lineups (ie w/o Tatum) or is JT sliding down to play three when there’s two big men? Curious and couldn’t say which is more common.

I think it's usually when one of the starters is out and Horford/Kornet comes in as the 5th starter? So yeah, JT slides down to play the 3.
Bench lineups with JT usually have Kornet as single big (JT-led all-white lineups).
