So far 8 for 9, 5 ORB, 4st, 1bk, 17 pts, 12 rb total so far. I don't think it's reasonable to expect this every night. Just half the time would net him the MVP + DPOY.

In no world in 17 and 12 an MVP. He played at what he should. Especially considering what we gave up.

You tell me how many times do any player put up that kind of stats on a nightly basis. People just have unrealistic expectations from Gobert. If he is not great, than he sucks. What we give up is not Gobert's fault and I will give up the same again for him.

Things said by fans of the opposing team:

The wolves see us on the schedule and probably just start laughing

I'm not ready for Edwards to punk us again. He was bad the last game we played and was bailed out by Randle. I dont think he has a 2nd game like that against us

The wolves see us on the schedule and probably just start laughing
Another user replied: and salivating.

This season, Devin Booker is nowhere near the same tier as Anthony Edwards. its insane

I wish there was a world where Jaden McDaniels played for us

Someone must be ******* Books girl... His mind ain't right

Minnesota would sweep this team 10 times out of 10 times in a series.

to any wolves fans lurking the sub - we're happy to give you KD, he deserves better than this team. HOWEVER, the starting price is 3 FRPs.

the suns are paing beal more than the wolves are paying mcdaniels, reid and divincenzo combined

Solid game all around. Particularly from Randle. Rudy was fantastic. Why are we hating on him?

Why you say....because he has one of these great games 15% of the time. The rest he is mediocre or you can't find him with a searchlight.

Everybody has a bad game periodically but once Rudy plays this way as the rule not the exception, only then will my criticism stop.

15% is being extremely kind.
We get this kind of aggression maybe once a month from Rudy.
Maybe the back is starting to get better now, but it's been a bunch of sleepwalking through games for Rudy for most of the season.
We need this level of intensity from him every night from here on out if we want to sniff even making it out of the play-in.

Not a terribly impressive game.
We let them shoot 52% and 49% from 3.
Anyone not being guarded by Jaden McDaniels had open looks all night long.

It's nice to see a team that's a bigger long term mess than us for once though.
Their coaching, salary cap, and roster construction issues dwarf our problems here.

There are literally 6 other players just this season averaging more pts per game with and average of that many rebounds. None of them are in real MVP contention this year except one.

If you'd do the same thing all over again you are a **** moron.

We have unrealistic expectations because we have no more moves left to get significantly better thanks to TC.

Who are those six players and sure all those players avgs 4 steals a night with a shooting PCT .800. It's amazing how quick these Gobert bashing gets defensive. I just can't imagine anyone who only dunks would miss a shot. That is not worth 5 picks.

... You said his stat line was MVP like. I responded and pointed out several players who averaged more pts and more or less the same rebounds. Yes his FG% was 80% and he had 4 steals (and 4 TOS which you left out) now you can definitely say those are uncommon but let's not pretend his heavily assisted scoring is the same as other points. If you consider 4 steals coupled with 4 TOs to be MVP like then so be it.

Funny how people just look at the stats.... Rudy does a lot of things does not appear in data.

And even then, they only look at the simplest of stats, and ignore advanced stats. But most of Gobert’s critics base their opinions more on emotion, and their subjective eye test, than stats.

Rudy is the most polarizing player we have had here since Rubio. When people say he isn’t put up MVP numbers, they are right, because the things Rudy does aren’t valued by MVP or even All Star voters. I listened to Nate Duncan make the case about how Gobert was an obvious All a star this year, and how the coaches that fill the roster who preach “ Defense Wins Championships!” are hypocrites when they choose like a LeMelo Ball. In addition, simpler fans prefer a flashy player who put up an inefficient 35 on a random Friday night, than the contribution Rudy makes on both ends of the floor. Gobert will never get the respect he deserves.

Totally agree. I would add the price we pay for him, probably overpaid but this is not Rudy fault. Now the most important is the get the version of Rudy we got last night. Hope we don't push too much the last 8 games. If we are fresh ( and focus) , we can bother all NBA teams.
