New Orleans has a tough schedule to make up three games. The odds jumps are very significant for us.

6th worst team keeping top 6 protected pick: 46%
5th worst team keeping top 6 protected pick: 64%
4th worst team keeping top 6 protected pick: 80%

I’m assuming if we tied with a team we would split the differences. If we tied with NO, we prob have 72% chance of keeping the pick. If we tied with Brooklyn, we would prob have a 54%.

Then we have to wait until May 12 for the final results.

On the way home from the supermarket this morning I saw some fat dude walking in a basketball jersey. My guess is he's playing for the Raptors tonight.

I think we should be rooting for the Pels to win every game and us to lose every game. That assures us #5 and gives a decent chance at #4 or a tie for #4.

We just have to lose EVERY game. It's not hard if the commitment is there!

Dude, I'm not that fat, and I *really need the money* ... I haven't had a drink in almost a month and a man has needs, about a 6-pk for Breakfast and 1/4 of a Handle for Lunch/Supper ... and they told me all I have to do is pass the ball to whoever looks like they want it...

...but really, you think I'm *fat??* ... that's messed up, I thought I looked pretty good in that jersey.

We need a leader and commander, RCIV, please take those reins and take all those 32 foot push shots.

Just checking over our remaining games... and I'm sure most of you already realize, but we are playing a bunch of teams with high motivation to win.

New York - doesn't really need to win or lose. Very unlikely to change their seed regardless, but there's still too much season left for them to bench their starters.

Milwaukee, Minnesota, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago - They are all fighting for seeds.

The only team on our schedule without motivation to win is Washington, who is battling Utah for the bottom of the standings. That will be a tough one.

Just let Pels win, even if Nets lose, if we continue to lose we're fine. I'm getting greedy I want that 4th pick.

Odds are the same for bottom 3, long as you're there you golden.

Being active in the tank is an eye-opening reminder of how flawed the NBA is right now. Tanking goes against what being a fan should be about: we should be rooting for wins, rather than losses. Yeah, I also want them to lose (just like I did a decade back), but it doesn’t sit comfortably with me. Rather than focusing on court designs etc, Silver needs to look at ways to make the brand more competitive. He needs to look at flattening the odds more (not substantially) and perhaps making it top 5 so that the team finishing last could potentially fall to #6.

Top five are disqualified from next year’s playoffs. Not a big deal for a team like the Wizards, but would be devastating for competing teams who had an injury issue and just committed to tanking (us).

Maxey being back in action for that last Wizards game is a real, potential, turd in the punchbowl.

Pelicans have the 7th toughest remaining schedule. Should we be rooting for them to beat the Nets?
