Giannis will net a lot more than that. The only question is if he wants out, will he insist on calling where he goes. If he’s fine with OKC, Houston or NOP (if they land the Flagg pick) we might come out with 75 cents on the dollar. But if he insists NYK they don’t have much

How much did Luka reshape the compensation landscape? Total fluke and not at all? Or some reconfiguring of what superstars go for?

Luka was a total fluke. Worst trade in sports history kind of disaster, not a new baseline.

This has to have been one of the hardest games to finish I have ever seen. You knew when they shot 90% for the quarter and couldn't get the lead past like 5 for very long it wasn't going to end well. Has been feeling a lot like the JKidd era lately.

The Bucks are exactly who I thought they were this whole time. None of this surprises me and if you have been paying attention to this team since October, it shouldn't surprise you either.

Back in December when the Bucks lost at home to the Nets and then followed that up a week later by losing at home to the Nets AGAIN with both Giannis & Dame on the floor. I knew this group of clowns were toast and I checked out as far as having any sort of expectations for this team. As you all know from reading my posts the past 4 months.

I also had a bad feeling about this team when they looked like they didn't care and were just going through the motions to get the season done and over with, and it was like the 4th game of the season. That right there was the first red flag for me.

The #1 problem with this team, and I have been saying it since November is that they don't play with great effort every night. They don't care. How much of that is on the players and how much of that is on Doc is the debate.

But it's been the lack of basic effort that has done this team in. We can talk strategy and we can talk X's and O's and sure, this probably is not a tier 1 roster.

But this team should be a lot better than what they have showed this season. And they would be a lot better than what they have showed if they had played with a high level of basic effort.

The only game this season where they seemed to play with a great level of effort for 48 minutes was the cup championship game against the Thunder.

But this Bucks team might be the greatest collection of guys who are just here to get their numbers and collect a paycheck.

So it actually makes all the sense in the world that the cup game was one of the few times they gave a solid effort.

The cup game was actually an incredible litmus test for this Bucks team.

It was almost like someone said, this Bucks team seems like a bunch of guys who don't care and are only in it for the $$$.

How would you prove that?

Have them play a game where they only get the $$$ if they win.

This Bucks team never had me fooled.

I stopped watching a couple weeks ago and regret nothing. Going to miss more games post all star break this season than the rest of the last 20 years combined. Well done Bucks, you made me fall out of love.

Feels like a year ago that me and you were saying that the Bucks should gut the roster and do a full rebuild around Giannis in the 2024 off-season. Oh wait, that actually was a year ago....lol.

Going into opening night 2024'25 with the previous season's roster was a brain-dead move.

And we said 11 months ago that Khris and Dame's trade value would never be higher than it would be during the 2024 off-season. That turned out to be true to say the least.

Khris was coming off a solid showing in the playoffs and Dame still had his reputation as a 75th anniversary team guy. Should have moved both guys this past summer. Between the 2 of them the Bucks could have acquired some really nice pieces to put around Giannis.

After Khris' showing in the playoffs, I really thought the Bucks would swindle a dumb GM in the off-season. That was our big chance. We probably could have gotten a guy like Giddy for Khris this past summer. Khris being a veteran guy with championship experience who can still contribute on the court, would have probably been an easy sell to the Thunder who were ready to contend going into this season.

And with Giannis still at 29 years of age going into this season. Doing a full re-build in the 2024 off-season would have given you just enough time to make another 2-3 playoff runs with Giannis before he slowed down or retired. Assuming you made good moves. Now it's too late, Giannis is a year older and now you don't have the assets to acquire any pieces of significance.

The most hopeful sentiment I can muster is that we got to see a championship a few years ago.

Pretty sure 25% of the board acknowledged this was the case a couple weeks into the season.

Can we acknowledge that we were a very top heavy team at the best of times?

After Giannis and with Dame out, who is our second best player right now?
Lopez? Who is a very opponent dependent center at best right now?
What about our 3rd best player with Portis out?
Kuzma? Trent? KPJ?

No matter what, for anyone who thought we could still win some games easily till the playoffs, you were just fooling yourselves. We will need to fight for every single win.
Tonight, we were missing Dame, Portis, AJ Green and Sims.

And with Hawks legit being a bad matchup for Lopez, KPJ might have been our second best player last night. Let that sink in and temper your expectations accordingly going forward.

Not saying we don't also have issues on coaching and with our fo, but it's more of a systemic thing.
And as for the playoffs, let's say we stay at 6 and play the Knicks with Brunson back and we get everyone else healthy except Dame.

After Giannis the Knicks would probably have the second, third, fourth and fifth best players on the floor... Maybe more... What would you expect us to do?

They could have saved this whole thing trading Dame at the deadline, but they blew it.

Fred Van Vleet and Tari Eason would have needed to Monstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jayson Tatum to save this thing.

Having a capable backup like Bobby or Sims was definitely more important than most thought too. We had a rut when Bobby was out for a week or two when his grandma passed as well and Sims filled in nicely at the beginning of his suspension.
