This is a guy who many consider is a top 3 player but has never put a team on his back and took them deep all by himself. How about he does that for a change? He was talking **** after winning his injury riddled ring about “doing it the right way” lol. Let’s see what he’s about.
I dont think any star has gotten hate for leaving their team after multiple years and fulfilling their contract (i.e., not pulling AD to LA). The hate comes when they join multiple other superstars as in LeBron 4x, KD 2x.
LeBron literally completed every contract he was on, he never asked to be traded.
I know, i didnt say he forced his way out. AD did.
What caused the entire LBJ thing to turn very negative for many fans of the game was not that he left Cleveland. It was that he - as self proclaimed GOAT and best player in the game - decided to join multiple superstars instead of moving somewhere else into a functional, competitive environment, but without other top 10 superstars. That was just so disappointing and weak. Same for KD, same for AD and everyone else who ducks competition and tries to stack the deck in their favor.
I dont see Giannis, Joker, Luka ever do that on their own will. I know the fanboys and influencers out there try to convince us otherwise, but a move like that makes me lose all respect for them as players. Basically they are admitting they dont even believe themselves that they can make it without creating unfair advantage.
