Silver Screen & Roll
For some time, Lakers fans online have felt that players return against them at a high rate. And each time it happens, as it did on Saturday against the Grizzlies when Ja Morant played his first game after nearly two weeks out, their heels dig in deeper.

Is this a case of it actually being true? Or is this a case of believing it’s true and being emboldened the handful of times it actually does happen?

Well, head coach JJ Redick had a similar question.

Prior to Saturday’s game, Redick was asked about the theory and revealed he actually had his staff research the notion.

“We had our analytics group look into it,” Redick said. “I don’t know that it’s been updated. I haven’t looked at it since Dame [Lillard] missed the Milwaukee game. But I think it’s like 86% of payroll has been available [against] us this year, which is, by far, No. 1 in the league.”

They’ll try to rough Luka up to get him into technical foul trouble — and to just to rough him up. Good coach, too, even if he’s an a hole.

Two home games against Houston, and two road games against OKC coming up. That should just about show us how we stack. If we can't beat them...then we can't beat them =0)

If we go:
0-2 Houston 0-2 okc
Then it's time to focus on next season

1-1 Houston 0-2 okc
Meet okc in the conf finals to our demise

1-1 Houston 1-1 okc
Intriguing. Let's see if JJ can Phil Jackson our way into the NBA finals.

2-0 Houston 2-0 okc
We're bringing in the banner. Jeanie owes us two parades.

I’d say if we don’t get blown out tonight, we have a shot. This game is a real test. Elite opponent.

will win one ... It's hard for teams to beat the same team twice In a row, I'm guessing the win will be the 2nd game If anything

Back to back with GSW/Pel then I think It's 1 or 2 days rest? they will be tired on the first game.

will do gamethread for It, but will be at work most likely.

Gsw is going to be on Thursday.
Pelicans already shutdown zion and all their starters. Unless we have another brain fart, or strip the team like we did against bucks on March 20th, we should win that game.

Good thing DFH and "Not worthless" Gabe showed up tonight.

I really want to finish ahead of the Nuggets. I would much prefer we have home game advantage over being at altitude.

Finney-Smith's best game imo. Been a bust for the most part...but he came up big tonight. Ball spread around nicely. Luka needs to get that 3 back! But what a nice win. Keep rollin.

The way this win happened should be encouraging for Lakers community. Offense and defense played as a team.

Luka needs to keep taking his 3's even in nights that are not falling, because keeps the defense honest and it is part of making others open. He and pros like DFH and Gabe take advantage of it.

Also, LeBron not forcing things and deferring more into AR is a good sign.
He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot.

Good win, good defense. We held them to 97 points. They scored 135 the night before, but back-to-back surely hurt them.

DFS and Vincent were huge on offense. DFS plays defense like a total stud, every game. AND he’s the perfect stretch four on offense. Great pickup.

Luka is so much better than I had expected on defense. Eating crow over here every game. Loving it.

Reaves looked timid most of the game. Gotta play even if Luka drives the bus.

been a bust? The guy is a role player, and a great one at that (besides a few games) I think he is, overall, above-average-serviceable in his tenure here thus far.

Oh, I think hes been total garbage. We gave up DLo, and his expiring contract...that we shoulda got something for...and THREE 2nd-round picks. Shoulda got alot more for our buck, IMO.

His defense is almost as good as Luka’s offense. He’s my favorite role player on the Lakers.

Plus, he’s how we got out of the D No dilemma.

3rd is really doable ... we just cant have brain fart games like the chicago buzzer beater.

however 2nd... may require some luck..
Beat Houston hopefully in our last game against them, but they need to lose one more.
However, I think we will be dropping at least one of the OKC games.
This means Houston has to in turn, lose two or three games to allow us to two seed. I dont think this is happening.
mcnugs definitely will be dropping more games, so us losing okc games should still allow us afloat.

The Houston game was a quality win. They no longer believe they can take us in seven. Both teams healthy, we win that series.

Same with McNuggets. Same with GSW, which is why we need to win decisively tonight.

Dallas and Clippers will cause trouble for us in seven games.

Garbage? :D He’s one of the best defenders in the game, lol.

But I would’ve traded D Lo’s expiring for a bag of chips because our d with him would’ve sucked in perpetuity…

Personally, I’m thrilled to see DFS on our team, see it as the best NBA trade of the year after GSW snagging Butler. Rob for GMOY.
