I personally don't want Durant, as I think it is an incredibly shortsided move. Makes you better for 2 years, and worse for the 6 years after. And you are paying assets for that? That is better suited for a team with a short window like GSW, MIL, or Den.

That said, if someone on our end wants to bet against Green, add filler salary, and one pick, I don't think it is an unreasonable position, its just not something I would do.

Would Harden and KD even want a reunion? They seemed to have played well off each other, just no idea how it ended.

But I’d trade the same package for Leonard that I would for KD, so if Leonard wants to play with AD and doesn’t mind leaving LA.. and KD wants to play with Harden.. Maybe some unrealistic 3 team trade..

Totally fair. I wonder about their playoff run and how that impacts their perspective. The money will also be a thing. So will other trade opportunities, clearly

Orlando doesn’t have the cojones to trade for Coby White, you really think have it in them to trade for KD? Lmao

I mean if KD stated that he wanted to go there? Do I think it’s likely, no. But broadening out the possibilities is fun for the forum.

KD is more likely to say he want play in Madrid/barcelona for culture and trying euroleague than for him to list Orlando amongst his list.

I think Houston will wait for someone younger, who can help them for more years (Giannis/Booker), while that happens maybe they do something smaller for a shooter (Cam Johnson?) or even participate as 3 teams in the KD trade to the Heat or Mavs, ..
Where they get Duncan or Klay ...
So I have Mavs/Heat/Wolves as possible suitors, where KD wants to play..
The Mavs among other things because I doubt they will extend PJ/Gafford, they will try to maximize their window and will want to please AD/KI..
HEAT is unusually mediocre, I suppose they offer Rozier/Robinson/Ware + Picks ... (I think they should create + cap space for 26 and sign a star for free in free agency ... thinking about Trae Young)
I think the WOLVES will have interest, but it becomes very difficult to put together an offer, without including McDaniels/Rudy ..
I think they will pretend Interest in keeping Ant, but they'll keep their guys (it would be hard to justify trading KAT and then trading for 37-year-old KD)...
If I had to bet, I'd bet on the Mavs..

KD to MAVS
G.Allen to HOUSTON
Gafford/Washington/Klay/Dallas FRP to SUNS
Powell+SRP(MAVS)salary space 4 TEAM

The Suns get solid players at positions of need, get younger, save more than 20 million, which together with rejecting (Martin/Micic) saves them from taxes and a late lottery pick to hang it on Beal and try to move him.

Beal+MAVS FRP for Middleton/Smart

Gafford/Richards/Oso
PJ/Dunn/Oso
Middleton/Royce
Booker/Klay
MLE(Russell)/Smart/Gillespie
Old Mike Lorenzo

I think you have to let the postseason play out. If a team like the Cavs gets to the ECF or better, I don't really see them putting in a bid at all. Durant makes so much you'd have to really gut the team and shorten your window in the process.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I completely agree. The way the offseason plays out will determine which teams get aggressive for KD.

I think you nailed it. I don’t know if this is your order, but I’d probably list McDaniels 2 and Gobert 3, since Tim Connelly worked so hard not to include him in the Rudy trade. Jaden made a leap this season as well, though that may have been expected and factored into TC’s 2022 valuation.

The interesting question is who MIN would take off the board in a Durant trade. Gobert is a polarizing player, and just like everywhere, MIN fans have very different opinions of him. Connelly must love him though, to trade that much to get him. He’d be great behind KD too, but I am not completely sure he’s off the table.

A big question mark is Naz Reid. The organization, and especially the fans, love that guy. However he’s a UFA and needs a new contract this summer, after spending years on under-priced deals. If MIN gives him a new deal with Bird rights, he may be Ineligible to be in a sign-and-trade depending on MIN’s apron situation. Moreover, Naz is mostly a big wing, a poor-man’s KD, Randle plays PF, and McDaniels has thrived there too. Some PF’s need to go out, certainly Randle, but MIN might be forced to trade Gobert for payroll purposes, which would radically alter what we think of this team.

Gobert in a Durant trade is unlikely - but not totally impossible. We shall see.

With how the season has gone , if he wants to play with an upstart , it has to be Detroit .

If he wants to team up with other vets like he has always done , it seems like it’s possibly GSW again.

Gobert for Durant is something I’ve been thinking about too.
