Make Your Best Offer: KD, Zion or Sabonis

Post#1 » by NYG » Tue Apr 1, 2025 10:04 pm

After looking over the league landscape... I believe the 3 best players traded this off-season will be Kevin Durant, Domantas Sabonis and Zion Williamson

So let's just say that's accurate... where will they be traded? What's the best offer for each?

Sabonis for Dallas is Lively, 2025 first, 2029 first. Would like PJ not to be part of the salary matching (so Klay and Gafford and one of “Naji” “Martin” or “Hardy+Powell”)

I’d offer a lot less for KD.

Zion I can’t see the current front office being interested in? Seems like they were picturing him when they looked at Luka…

And I don’t expect all Dallas fans to agree with me.

Charlotte:

#3 or #4 in this draft (Ace Bailey or VJ Edgecombe)
2026 1st: CHA lotto protected otherwise lowest of PHX/WAS/MEM/ORL
filler:
Jusuf Nurkic (expiring)
Josh Green (two years left)
Tidjane Salaun (1 year plus two rookie options)

for

Domantas Sabonis

--

I would not offer anywhere close to this package for Zion or KD, so I don't know why we need a single thread for all three of these...

Fred Van Vleet, Cam Whitmore, Reed Sheppard, 2025 PHX 1st (if it doesn't jump) for Kevin Durant

If we flame out in the 2nd round of the post-season, I would offer Siakam for Zion or Siakam for KD+.

Blazers wave one of those future MIL picks/swaps, this years pick, along with a playable replacement (ayton). Or something around Shaedon sharpe and perhaps a protected pick situation
Somewhere trying not to offend Texas Chuck.
Fred Van Vleet, Cam Whitmore, Reed Sheppard, 2025 PHX 1st (if it doesn't jump) for Kevin Durant
I think that is the base package for whichever star Houston goes for. Just add more picks if better star.
Add one for Trae. Two for Booker. Three for Ant or Giannis.

They kind of need to keep Van Vleet unless they're trading for a PG. So that would work for Trae, but Booker or Ant need a PG with them - so probably Green in place of FVV. Giannis may have Brooks as the main salary. Probably KD as well.

Not sure on this one, still weighing pros and cons.

Something around Sengun for Trae

and then
FVV (Maybe routed to Orlando for additional draft comp)
2025 Phx #1 (top 4 protected),
2027 #1 Houston has Phx and thier own with BK Swap rights, would offer the worst of the two picks.
2029 #1 Houston has 2 best of Dal, Phx, and Hou #1s, would offer the worst of the two picks.

Trae / Reed
Green / Cam
Brooks / Eason
Jabari / Amen
Sabonis / Adams

Doesn’t require Salaun. The pick and pure filler is enough.

If Sac can turn Sabonis into Ace that’s a win. The rest is fluff.

That package and two picks doesn’t get Booker. And that package and three picks is even further ways from Ant and Giannis.

I don’t think FVV goes anywhere. I’d guess he gets extended at a lower number that the TO. Think that Green is the odd man out and the Rockets would prefer to get off of his money.

I am viewing Salaun as a neutral (at best). deal doesn't quite match up salary wise unless you factor in the rookie's salary after he's signed. If Salaun is the hold-up here, toss Okogie in instead. same thing except Okogie is like the 80th percentile outcome of Salaun's career, probably better.

I want the Pistons to have Zion without giving up any core players. A couple of future unprotected FRPs?

Why would New Orleans do this unless you sent 2026 + 2028 + 2030 + 2032?

Why do you think Sabonis will be traded?

Kings aren’t rebuilding, and will most likely have a new coach

If they can get down to the 12 in the draft it would give them 12 and 3 this year i think.... that is a nice start to a rebuild
