Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
The Backbone is currently my purchase of the year after having it for a week. Traveled for work this week and was able to play NCAAF and even Atomfall and Avowed with ease. I would always take my steamdeck or Switch with me which was just one more big screen. And I had to download stuff before to make it ready. But the Backbone I literally just open the app I want and stream whatever is on my PC or Xbox. And it’s 95% perfect. The occasionally stutter or graphical fragmenting but nothing that would ever make me not use it, and it was $100 compared to double or quadruple more for the other devices.
With that said, does anyone wanna buy a barely used gen 1 512GB Steamdeck? Honestly I’ll give a ridiculously good price.

I finally got through the demo (Blade Phantom), stayed on normal. He took me probably an hour. I ended up getting pretty good at parrying, or brink guards or whatever they call it - there's a lot of mechanics to remember the names of. But I really appreciated that you kept your souls and it even gave you some depending on how you performed against the boss before you died. This is always the most frustrating part of soulslikes for me.
The loot did get less exciting even in the two demo stages. I thought there'd be better itemization, but I don't see any reason really to use something other than set pieces. I guess that's fine but it was a little less exciting than I thought at first glance.
I heard it gets substantially harder so I'd probably end up dropping to easy. Put it on my wish list but holding off for now because I'm definitely going to be playing a javazon in POE2 in 6 days

Switch 2 out June 5th. I hate saying it but I'll probably pick it up just to get better looking versions of the Zelda games.

Mario Kart World looks pretty awesome. And as someone who can't play FPS games on controller without wanting to jump out a window, I'm looking forward to the mouse functionality and trying out a Prime game.

Coming to PS2, Holidays 2026.
ETA: Agree Mario Kart looked awesome. It's always a good time with friends and the courses looked fun.

Yea from a technical standpoint this looks hilariously awful. But still, FromSoft.

It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for em.

May need to wait and see on this. People are reporting that the Donkey Kong game will be $70, but it's possible the $80 is being reserved for games like Mario Kart (maybe Super Smash Bros when that eventually comes too?) Not really clear yet.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Most of you guys seem to play many hours a week. I'm surprised that cost is a barrier vs. quality of gameplay (which is unknown of course at this point)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
