This is a pretty easy yes. I don’t think Scottie will ever be as good as Giannis, and I like Scottie. And I think Giannis wouldn’t mind coming here as long as Masai is around. I can actually see this as a possibility.

This is why you develop and build players like Barnes. To trade them for future HOFs. I will personally pack Barnes bags and send him to Pearson airport. Even with Barnes on Max he is our best asset I assume he would garner potential interest.

Giannis has put in the time there to the point where they likely will do right by him and trade him to where he wants to go. Obviously our only chance of getting him is if he only wanted to come here, we aren't winning a bidding war. Nobody is saying this is likely to happen, only that we should do everything in power to try and make it happen if it ever became an opportunity.

I know it's been open season to piss on Barnes and some of the criticism is fair though I think judging anything on this waste of a season is misguided at best. Having said that, complaining about his contract is just idiotic because that's just confession to being plain ignorant of NBA's current economy.

Most of you guys have been ignorant about Barnes for the last 2 years but he's been so garbage for a big chunk
of the season it's undeniable.

We've played this game a thousand times with Bargnani, DeRozan, Siakam etc. where they fail to live up
to expectations or their contract and get moved and half the fanbase shoots the messenger. We get insulted
but we aren't telling you anything opposing NBA fans aren't saying. Some Toronto sports fans are such homers
they completely lose touch of reality.

Like I said, if you want to complain about his game, that is fine. You are entitled to your opinion and there are things he's done or not done this season that warrants it. But contract is the contract. There was no way to avoid paying that given what he's done the last 3 years and to think it's something to "get out of" or that there'd be any kind of difficulty to trade it if they decided to go another direction is beyond idiotic.

There were quite a few skeptics about the Barnes and Quickley contracts around the league. I believe Masai
or Bobby said they were betting on him because of his work ethic. Also teams aren't gonna be lining up
to trade for a guy who can't average 20 ppg with his horrid shooting numbers on a max contract especially
if you want value in return. I don't think our fans realize how much Barnes has hurt his stock this year. There
is only so many Nicos in the league to bail you out. We need to stop coddling Barnes and get on him to stop
being so stagnant and even regressing at times our franchise future depends on it.
