Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 9
I like Larsson, Iv always been pushing for Spo to play. However I think he still has a long way to go. I am hoping he has a good summer, the Heat will need him next year. All the inexperience players I hope they can make a jump next year. Jaquez, Jovic, Larsson, Ware and Johnson. If these guys all make a jump to be dependable contributors next year, that will be a HUGE impact to the roster. If all of them make an impact next season, Herro, Larsson, Jaquez, Johnson, Jovic, Bam, Ware can be good enough to be a top five team next season.

We swapped out Rozier, Jaime and Duncan for Davion, Larsson and Wiggins. Thats quite the upgrade.

Ok. I'm out on Morant. Dude may be mentally challenged. I dont think I can root for someone this stupid. Clearly the NBA isn't his calling. Dude should retire and start his drug empire cuz that's where his heart lies. Making hundreds of millions for dribbling a ball isn't everyone lol

I think fans that push for Ja would be underwhelmed with his on court impact. He's an individual talent for sure, but everything that glitters isnt gold. If you have to move any one of the core 2 or 3 pieces for him you don't dramatically raise the ceiling of this team. Memphis actually has comparable core pieces, outside of last year they've played well without him and this year they cant beat good teams - I read a stat recently that they haven't beaten a team with a +.500 record in 2 months.

Ummm you posted that like it was news, that what we all talked about when the GS, MIA and Phx was talking. Richardson and Butler matches the salary for Durant. PHX can not add players to a trade it has to be exactly matching salaries. Richardson and Butler were going to PHX and Durant was going to GS and Wiggins and fillers to Mia.

I'm not some huge fan of Ja, but this is stupid. This is done every single night by so many different players. To punish Ja for it and "look into it" more closely just because its him is hypocrisy. Josh Giddey is literally a r*pist and it was swept under the rug. A grown man legally owning guns but being irresponsible with them on camera pales in comparison. It still annoys me how much **** Ja got for his behavior vs Josh Kiddey.

So if Josh Gidler seen talking to a female child in the hallway, should not the NBA investigate? Its legal to talk to a child, so should we forget about his history? Should would we not look at OJ side eye if he was wearing gloves that dont fit?

Hes braindead and theres no fixing him.. adam silver literally had a face to face conversation, informing him of everything he could literally let slip out of his hands, the super max contracts, gatorade, shoe deals, etc.. the value.. being the one of the faces of the league..
All this could equate to him being a billionaire by the end of his career..
And none of that matters to him, his gang related type image is more important to him than everything the world is trying to offer him.
Memphis has let go of his coach for him.. memphis has been extremely supportive of him. But he cant help himself, he will destroy his career on his terms.

I see your point. And lol @ Gidler.
But I still think its different. I can't think of a situation where it wouldn't be weird for a grown man NBA player to even intimately socialize with pre-teens, especially in the context of an actual basketball game (before, after, or during it). On the other hand, the gun finger point thingie happens all the time with other players. I think it's just an overreaction.
Ja is a dummy but they're using him as a scapegoat/punching bag at this point.

It's also up to Ja to be a little bit more aware of what he's doing. He's not finger gun 3 pointing in celebration in this instance. Considering what he's gone through with the NBA whether it was fair or not he's got a lot of eyes on him.

I don't disagree with that either. Like I said, he's a dummy. But an investigation from the NBA? Give me a break. This shouldn't have warranted more than some commentary from sports talking heads saying he is, in fact, a dummy for that gesture considering his history, and then next topic. Just my opinion of course.

I get a lot do not follow things like this unless its national news. But the NBA has long cut out *gesture (jesters) like this for a long time and have fined players over 20 years for *gestures (ala throat thrashing). I was someone who is big on trash talking, *gestures, showing out. And it annoyed me when they cut it out in the pros but I actually get it. This is not the playground, and I am a person who been shot at, and people tried to jump me for trash talking. I played in the I'm gonna get my gun era. I played in park leagues where, a team is losing and one of their players go get their gun and shoot in the air to make everyone run and to stop the game. The league and the players do have a responsibility to not promote certian negative behaviors regardless in the moment it might be lighthearted. But history has shown many of these things lead to very bad outcomes. These are not the leauge jumping the gun (pun intended) to reactionary uproar.
And in regards to Morant, what is disturbing is not the jester alone. What is disturbing is unusually attraction, lack of control to guns and the ideas of shooting someone. You have to start to wonder what is really going on in his head? Are we gonna sit here one day and say all the signs were there?
