This Dame stuff is interesting and inspires hope.. I wonder if these cases can be more or less severe--- or of there is a way to "catch it early" which makes this possible

Ironically I joined the forum the day after we drafted Bogut. Was on here saying I wish we had landed in the #3 slot so we could have taken Deron or CP3 instead of choosing between Bogut and Marvin Williams. Got a lot of push back for that statement.

I found the board because I was looking for a way to express my displeasure for taking Bogut over CP3.

I think a lot of us either find the board out of pure frustration or out of pure excitement. What happens after that, only God knows

That truly is a crazy piece of Bucks revitionalist history. Doesn't get the same attention the Dirk draft day trade does but that could've been a game changer. It's insane to think how long Bogut has been out of the league while CP3 keeps plucking away.

CP3 would have been on the 1st hot smoking jet out of Milwaukee... I wonder if Hammond would have won with that trade asset.

Bubble Bucks were the best example of Giannis hero ball (by itself) being mostly fools gold as a playoff force.. simple Giannis wall and he just barrel through and get hurt/called for O fouls. Noone cared enough in the regular season to employ it and risk the injuries to their own guys. Also it was another example of how most good regular season Bucks role players fold up when a playoff closeout comes.

Jabari would've been an incredible offensive weapon, that was clear once he finally started shooting 3s. But it still all looked very questionable as far as fit/team/winning went due to his god-awful defense and rebounding. I think in his time here I only saw him actually put on a body on someone rebounding one time. Combine that with Giannis also not doing that fundamental very much and the combo was a problem. Also have to remember you had KM, so your three best players/assets were very similar in positions with a ton of overlap. As some might recall, I was one of the few staunch "trade jabari before everyone realizes he's fools gold and/or he tears his ACL again" (it was really the main reason I went from reading to posting).

To me Jabari was the trade piece they would've had to nail in order to win big. And of course I would have been shocked if they actually had the stones to trade him, so I'm skeptical how it all would've played out. But in a vacuum, him healthy scoring 20 plus obviously would've been a good thing. Get someone else to overpay for him, like say you were able to pull off a PG13 for SGA equivalent type trade, and you'd have been in a good spot. I just doubt they'd have had the balls to do it. And going by fan sentiment back then, I see why they would've been hesitant. This board was unified in their hate for the 3-4 people (two pretty much quit posting on here) on that side of the issue, haha.

Good job buying low on some young "problem" guys RR and KPJ have been something else.. we definitely haven't had guys like this at this position since.......

Ummmm... dynamic 1/2... looking at Double Nickle Jennings, right? Am I forgetting someone?

Jabari could be on this team right now, but he had a family emergency at the exact moment he can't have family emergencies to resuscitate a NBA career. Not to be a douche but it sorta reminded me of Arnold in Pumping Iron and he skips his parent's funeral....

Yeah, if it isn’t AJ, then I think we might have to go all the way back to Jabari.

Thats a nice statement about Rollins (and AJ), but also an indictment of the Bucks org.

This season has turned me into a Rollins believer but it is pretty hilarious how we just run the gambit every couple months with a different young dude (AJ, AJJ, KPJ) and try to talk ourselves into them being anything more than "5th starter" type potential guys. I think the "talent" issue is vastly overstated if our top guys are healthy, but counting on any internal improvement from the young-ins on this roster is a hard sell.

I definitely see roles for Rollins and Green in the league. Thank the Basketball Gods we don’t have to watch AJax anymore. I just wish some team was dumb enough to buy into him the last two years.

Bucks flame out but Giannis doesn't ask to be traded. Memphis calls and says Ja for Dame, what do you say?

Keeping in mind he can't shoot, is having a bad year and has been injured a lot.

To be fair, he doesn't shoot basketballs.

I've floated the idea before. It's a big risk but definitely reopens the window. Spacing, availability and locker room all could be a nightmare, though.

When you glance at the trade board you keep seeing things about how teams won’t want to trade for Dame because he’ll be 35, and then you’ll see Sexton + offers from people for him.

Then some of those same posters will mock up trades where they’re giving up quite a bit more for KD who’ll be 37 and has openly quit on his team multiple times over the past few years.

___________

Shams reported Houston, Minnesota, Miami, San Antonio, and New York would be big players for KD in the off-season.

I have to imagine Houston, Minnesota, and Miami would have interest in Dame if KD falls through for them.

Gambo reported that the likely Houston offer would be Jalen, either Jabari or Eason, and a first plus filler for KD.

Maybe there’d be a similar but lesser valued package for Dame as a backup plan.

Dame has absolutely zero trade value. He's a negative the Bucks would have to attach picks to in order to move.

Come on his trade value is nowhere near negative. I doubt he brings in a haul but teams wouldn’t be demanding a first round pick to get him. A team like Houston would def give up something half decent for Dame.

His $$ value does lose a lot of challenges though.

He's got the same thing that ended Bosh's career and he's going to be 35 before next season. The days of trading Lillard for anything positive are long gone.

I don’t think you can say that until his medical prognosis is a bit clearer. But yes, we’d have trouble trading him atm.
