I think if this would be an important playoff-game everyone of the named players would play. So it's mostly a precautionary measure in my opinion. And this is fine - they will be the first seed anyway, most likely also be better than Cleveland and have home court adv in any potenial finals series. So rest them for the playoffs. Also, the last two games this RS are against Utah and New Orleans. Rest the the starting five completely in those games, the playoffs are more important.

An healthy Thunder squad is going to the Finals if we aren't badly underperforming. I have some concerned facing the Lakers, Nuggets and Warriors but don't think they can sustain our physicallity for 48 minutes and even less in a 7 game series

My expectation is through the roof I’m not sure I can really enjoy the playoffs etc .

The way the season has played out anything short of the Finals is a disappointment. I'm not going to say championship or bust because I'm going to say making the Finals for a team of this age is a disappointment. If they lose a hard fought series to Boston it won't make the season a failure. If they lose to LAC or Minny it will be a disaster.

Kizz I believe the only reason we don’t make the finals is injury’s. But I could be wrong hope I am.

Chet clearly not at 100% since coming back from injury. He won't be that second option offensively in the POs IMO but just hope he can stay healthy and have a huge defensive impact and make his shots

It's crazy that this team is breaking records or being close to the top of all team best regular season teams ever while having a ton of small injuries (and a big one with Chet). I think the average level in the NBA is pretty meh and very top heavy but it's still amazing.

For sure Chet is not right something is wrong. I hope he can Chet again even if it’s next year, I mean he got blocked three times under the basket by a shorter player no lift for sure.

not very concerned about the first round of the POs if we are healthy so it gives Chet a bit more than a month to get back in shape. I have no clue if it's possible while playing high intensity basketball but conference semi finals might be the time we will really need him to play well.

i find it a bit sad what they turned the game of basketball into. young guys like these won't even celebrate some record breaking.

some might mistakenly take this as a positive sign of locking in a bigger objective, but i find this extremely dangerous and potentially anxiety inducing.

contemplation of good work is necessary and good.

I’m with you on this . I won’t chase small wins (70 games winning season) but it’s ok to take a few hours off to celebrate the season we had. A great meal somewhere or an off from 1 day of training that sort of things so they can rest up.

I agree with sga regular season doesn't mean much right now go win a title and it will mean more. He doesn't want them to lose focus.

I know I’m crushing a bit, but could SGA be any more of a perfect superstar? I say that objectively even though I want to have his babies, despite biological limitations.

almost yeah...would still need another elite postseason run from him but so far yes he's close to brecome a perfect superstar. I do think that prime Lebron was perfect superstar because of his BBIQ and leadership but I understand what u mean and SGA isn't far behind (at least in the regular season)

i have seen two perfect superstars, mj and curry

peak lebron always felt manageable imo given the right defensive personnel imo. (shai looks manageable too)

curry and mj looked flat out invincible at times in their peaks.

i'm probably biased towards off ball scoring threat impact thought. i admit it. i think the strongest scoring threats always balance dynamism on and off ball.

I think sga is maybe the best player I have seen since mj, if he had a really good 3 shot he would be so much better than curry it wouldnt even be in a discussion.

That's a bit too much for me. SGA is not as dominant as prime Lebron/Jokic and it's not close. Hate to say this but even Kevin Durant was better than Shai. Can't dismiss Curry's career and peak either. Then we could discuss some other names and disagree on some but I would rank current Shai over prime Harden which is already HUGE.

There's a decent chance Shai ends up being the best guard in the decade that's for sure... a couple more years of dominance and mostly at least a title.

He's playing guard in the same decade as Luka. SGA could end up being the 3rd best player of the 2020s behind Luka and Jokic.
