Jeez and we lost to both of those teams. Brutal!! If we had won just those two games...we would be in good shape for the 3 seed...

The back to back we lost to Portland....all the close games we have lost

The Jazz have won 1 games since the beginning of March.

Either way we could really use the 31st pick.

Wolves should be comfortably in contention for 2 or 3 seed but they are a Finch coached team and are not well coached and play down to competition, lose to lotto teams and teams missing their best players far too much AND in close games they are usually badly coached and thus not clutch.

There will be someone good dropping to 31… of course wouldn’t be surprised if Connelly trades it and pisses me off.

If he does maybe he gets good value. Either way better to have 31 than 32 or 33.

Not sure I want Denver to lose. It seems like they are ducking 3rd hoping we stay at 6th or below. That said Malone so overplayed Joker, Gordon, and Braun that they probably should rest this close to the end of the season.

If the Clippers win tonight then Wolves, Griz, and Clippers will all be 44 and 32. That means a 3 way tie with the Wolves in 6th, Clippers in 7th, and Memphis in 8th by the end of the evening.

Memphis beat us twice and lost to LAC 3 times. Memphis 2-3 in 3 way tie.

Clippers 3 wins against the Griz and 3 losses against us
3-3 in a three way tie.

Wolves 3 wins against LAC, 2 losses against the Griz 3-2.

I am thinking the same thing. I really feel sorry for them especially Westbrook missed another critical layup tonight. On the one hand DEN is now only two games ahead. Any tie or 3way tie will be very favorable to Wolves. They also have a tough schedule. One the other hand, we need Houston to be engaged and interested as they play many teams that we need a loss.

Denver has played one more game than us and has two fewer losses. The math doesn't math for us to catch them.

This time tomorrow, we could have the fifth seed by ourselves.

However things eventually play out, I'd prefer avoiding 4th/5th. If we get good, thinking 2 series wins to gain confidence before seeing okc would be better..

If Wolves go 5-1 to finish 49-33 and DEN go 2-3. Every team DEN face are playoff teams.

It's really strange that if LAC drops a game, we drop to 7th. We are in control to get the 6th seed by beating MEM. Do need DAL and SAC interested in the play-in and HOU still engaged to take a game or two from LAC

I agree. I think the 6th seed is the best.

I also don’t think the team OKC faces in Round 1 is going to put up much of a fight, so the Thunder would be rested to start the Semi’s. And to be blunt, since the Thunder are the heavy favorites against any team in the West, the more games that happen in the playoffs leads to more chaos, and increases our odds against them. If we can avoid them until the WCF, maybe their team isn’t as dominant as they are right now.

Sorry Shrink, we are in 6th, LAC 7th, Mem 8th,

If I am Chris Finch I tell the locker room that the playoffs start tonight. Our opponent is the Minnesota Timberwolves, and we beat them by beating four teams who we should beat. Brooklyn is not a play in team. Philly is not a play in team, Utah is the worst team and another Utah loss improves our 2nd round pick. Beyond that the other two are revenge games. The Bucks punked us before the break and the Griz got us twice in one shot games. Time to finish strong and get home court in round 1.

I don’t love OKC in round 2. That said, I am not 100% sure we don’t catch 3rd if we win out. That is the dream. I would love Denver and either Clippers, or Warriors, or Rockets, in rounds 1 and 2.

We win out and we will almost certainly catch them. We have to beat three really bad teams (Brooklyn twice, Philly once, and Utah once,) plus the Bucks without Dame and whatever the Griz are like when we see them. If we start playoff intensity now, we are at least the 5 seed, could even end up 3 if the right dominos fall.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
