We signed Drew Timme for two years, no details on the contract yet. Hopefully we will see him get some minutes tonight against the Clippers.

Ugh... Dumb wins... Can't just tell the team to quit, but hard to see the Nets catching the Sixers as they're unlikely to win another game this year

I haven't seen the last few games but how has Drew Timme been?

Stats look good, but it's the NBA silly season so I usually put very little stock in unknown players having themselves a run at the end of the year...

catching the sixers became unwinnable since they have gone as all in as anyone can go to tank. they should probably get some kind of penalty if karma doesn't knock them down in the lotto.

thankfully the difference in 5th/6th is minor. both are functionally 2 out of 5 shots at a top 4 and 1 in 10 shot at Flagg.

3 wins behind TOR and 6 games left, we should be pretty much locked into 6th. Toronto is 3 wins behind SAS for 8th, so they too are pretty much locked in, though they do have games left vs both BKL and SAS. As long BKL loses that game, there is basically no way for TOR to catch us short of a miracle. TOR's last 4 games are BKL, CHA, DAL, SAS. if they win just 1 more game to get to 29 wins, the nets would have to go 5-1 to pass them and 4-2 to tie. So lose that 1 game to TOR and it's basically a done deal. Nets also have 2 games vs MIN right on the border of play in, so they are going to be playing hard.

My guess is nets finish 2-4 but even if they pull off 3-3 they should still get 6th.

yea Utah and Philly should definitely be penalized for their blatant tanking, it'll be criminal if they don't because other teams have in the past. To be honest Silver should just give us #1 pick because we actually played hard and tried not to tank and always get the s*** end of the stick. We all know the draft is rigged anyway so its a matter of where Silver and committee wants to see Flagg at. It would be nice to get the 1st pick but then again I feel like Harper, Ace and others will have a better career and have a higher ceiling than Flagg, just my opinion.

We're pretty much locked into the the 6th spot. Couple of questions for you guys:

If we stay at the 6th spot or drop down a spot or two after the lottery, who do you guys want to target? A big (Maluach, Queen), Wings (Johnson, Knueppel) or Guards (Kasparas, Fears). Seeing as there are no clear best player available at this spot which is always my preference when it comes to drafting, who do you wish we target?

Second question: If we move up but land in the 3rd/4th position, who do you prefer, Bailey or Edgecomb?

For me Maluach, Fears, Kon

Id lean more VJ, i don't trust Ace feel for the game he has high bust chance

I think the Maluach sneaks into the top 5, maybe Top 6. I'd probably go Maluach, Johnson, and then it gets tough. I don't love Queen that high, but could make a case for the others you listed.

honestly im just gonna park my opinions and trust marks. other than flagg/harper the entire lotto is freshman who looked good in flashes.

i can see arguments for edgecomb, bailey, jakuconias, maluach, queen, fears, knueppel, johnson. at their best they all look good, but they all have low points and inconsistency.

the numbers dont support it, but fears has the look of another trae young. if he hadnt shot 28% from 3 and put up more apg, he'd probably be at the top of my board. he may be any way.

im glad the 2nd pick looks likely to be 17/18. hopefully marks can move up to get some combo of 2 of the above.

Bailey. You cannot go wrong with either one but the goal is Flagg or Harper.

Moving up means you have have to look at Queen or Kasparas.

Hell no on Maluach !! dude has big bust written all over him. If we stay at 5 or 6 we need to go guard. Fears is my top pick, and Jakucionis (however you say his name) right after. Either one of these guys I'll be excited for, I think they have huge ceilings.

I would be ok with Tre Johnson or Queen but I think the first 2 guards I said will have better careers when all said and done. No on Knueppel, he's ok but he pretty much a Joe Harris, JJ Reddick kinda guy and that's not a high enough ceiling for me at pick 6 or so. With our 18 pick I like Ben Saraf

I wouldn't be shocked if Marks' board deviates a lot from the mocks. I remember in the summer of 2017, Marks was supposedly trying to get up as high as he could to land Mitchell, who went 13th. Rumor was Mitchell was the top player on Marks' board.

He also went way off mock with LeVert. Though there were a couple players taken later that ended up being better (Siakam, Murray, Brogdon), LeVert still ended up as good value compared to most selected in the late first.

Hate to say it but I got the same feeling about Ace Bailey.

Many of the mocks have Kasparas going at 6. I would be okay with that.

Hard to believe this going to be our first lotto pick since 2010.

1 game left, locked into the 6th odds slot, time to beat the knicks and keep their losing streak going and hopefully get that pick a few slots better in the draft. IND, DEN, LAC are all 1 win behind NYK, so if we can beat them and those teams can win they will be tied for the 22nd slot.

MIL losing and MEM winning will lock the MIL pick into the 18th slot.

HOU pick is pretty much locked into the 27th slot.

PHO could end up anywhere 9-10-11.

It was a weird and winding season, but they got through it. And they got through it with players still wanting to be here and with a coach everyone believes in. Hopefully get some good luck in the lottery for once.

And so ends the 2024-25 season. We finish with a 26-56 record.

The date to cycle on our calendars is May 12TH for the draft lottery position.

Yeah, have to admit that I have hardly watched a minute for ages but at least we have the off season to look forward to
