If Lillard can come back this season, he can still potentially be moved for value. But, uh, yeah. We're between a rock and a hard place. Thanks a million, Doc/Horst. Now we have to entertain Giannis trades.

I really didn't think he was ready for the big show, but he is showing out on a tanking team and the potential was undeniably tantalizing. Whether this was Horst or Doc, this hierarchy of our decision makers needs to get the axe.

His $$ value does lose a lot of challenges though.

He's got the same thing that ended Bosh's career and he's going to be 35 before next season. The days of trading Lillard for anything positive are long gone.

He's also got the same thing that didn't effect a bunch of other athletes careers. Players that are 3.1 VORP have trade value.

Just takes 1 team to value Dame.

He's getting older yes but also fewer years left on his contract which expires in 2027.

Hopefully this blood clot is more a setback than a catastrophe.

I believe we heard similar things about Giannis being close to returning last year. I don't believe it for a second.

That fast of a recovery in sports would be a first right? I don’t buy it at all either.

It’s a damn shame the Bucks completely shot their credibility lying about Giannis coming back in the playoffs.

Hopefully Shams isn’t just carrying water for the org with Dame (yeah he probably is).

Either way the team needs to treat the fans better…especially if they want to avoid mutiny as dark clouds mount.

I'm sorry but "the fans" are absolutely not entitled to know about players' medical conditions and whatever timeline they wanna throw out can be easily explained away by the fact they indeed don't know if/when he'll be ready for the playoffs either, which is pretty defensible given how serious this blood clot stuff is. If you guys are gonna get your hopes up, then that's on you.

You very well may be right. I think there’s probably a longer list of athletes coming back from this than having their career ended from it, and usually it’s just a one-off, but if he gets another, his career is in serious jeopardy.

Serena Williams had it really bad, like Bosh, and she continued to play. 2011 she had an embolism, came back and proceeded to win 10 grand slams. In 2017 she had another embolism, came back, and made another grand slam final.

No we aren't "entitled" to info.. But last season the team fed us garbage about Giannis via Shams/Woj. Not giving us any info? That's fine. Giving us b.s.? Not fine.

If there was any actual Dame info we we know who would be getting the scoop and it isn't Shams.

I hate being a fan of a team w/ this m.o. because a lot of this is just anticipation & effort. in our starting 5, typically 4 of the 5 guys are poor in this area. And it leads to giving the opponent so many extra opportunities. It's hard to win this way.

In the playoffs, you figure Giannis turns it up. Brook can only block out his man. Others need to pursue. I don't think it's in Prince's makeup. Dame brought it inconsistently. He's not going to be there anyway most likely. Kuz, Bobby, Green are mixed bags. Trent's bad at it. Rollins, KPJ, & Sims are x-factors to plug these holes. So they ought to see the court more, when available.

I will say during the in-season tournament it seemed we were going for every loose ball. If by some miracle we can get everyone healthy it would be interesting to see if this team could still bring that energy.

I just don't see Dame coming back.

I do think the team has a switch it can flip in 'real' games, I just don't believe it will do anything without Dame and a rusty Bobby and Sims against a team that seemingly has our number now. Against Indy, maybe.

Trent is the worst rebounder / loose ball guy I have ever seen in the NBA. It'll take him a split second to react when the ball bounces in front of him, like he truly had not been aware that such a thing was a possibility. It's astounding. Feels like he gets more than his share of deflections -- it's not like he's totally disengaged, just has a deep dark blind spot.

If they're talking a week or 2 away from full contact, he's probably already off the anticoagulants.

In no way am I trying to argue either way as I surely haven’t had this angle on my radar but is it possible there’s seemingly less loose balls available? Or am I not seeing that. I just see totals. Is it possible there’s less defense created less loose balls and/or the offense doesn’t get forced into loose balls? Are these numbers at all in line with TOs and TOs forced? I would think some sort of % of gotten/available might tell a more accurate story, quite possibly it reads the same.

Keeping in mind he can't shoot, is having a bad year and has been injured a lot.

Just saw his latest antics. Not sure I'd take him for free at this point. Just a colossal idiot. So much to lose and he just can't help himself. Getting to play gangsta on tv is worth the millions he could end up squandering I guess. Nothing between those ears.

Haven’t been following the news about Dame. I assumed he’d be out for at least 6-8 months. Is it really true that he might be back for the playoffs?
