I don't know where 6-8 months came from but Shams threw out that he could be back in a week or two. I don't think anyone believes that though.

It’s one thing to not give out injury info to fans, but to blatantly lie so people spend money on the team is straight up criminal in my mind (not literally). I’d like to think that wasn’t the case but Middleton two years ago and Giannis last year were never coming back even though the team kept saying they were on the verge of returning

I don’t buy this Dame stuff at all. Do not believe he plays again this season.

maybe im totally off base, but this feels like the type of injury where you can say 1-2 weeks unless it's healed now and just giving two weeks to monitor? I feel this is another lie or he is actually good to go, and not a wait and see type thing

One of two things:

a) Doc and the team are trying to keep optimism with the team and fans for the obvious reasons.

b) Dame's DVT may not be as serious as thought. Only reason I put that out there is there was a story that he saw 5 different specialists before this diagnosis was given. So are his calf problems tied to this or was this a diagnosis they came up because nothing else was explaining his issues.

I'm not an MD or a Doctor so if one of you wants to weigh in on this. Is this something you clearly see on a scan? If so, then the team just wants to string us out to sell playoff tickets.

Agree, we need more info. Is there like, different sizes or densities of clots? Is there newer medications that could help it disapate faster than in the past?

Of course there are different sizes of clots. Yes, I've read you can both diagnose and clear it from a # of different scans. I think a motive is they're trying to keep team morale higher to get a better effort, fan morale to sell more tickets.

However, I don't get how it follows if you can see it on a scan then they're trying to sell more tickets. You can see it getting smaller, so maybe they think it's realistic to clear in time. It's likely very optimistic & something they'll keep dragging out, like in the past. They've earned that M.O. It doesn't near align w/ the average timeline and we shouldn't believe an exception to that until they develop a much better track record.

I actually don't think playoff ticket sales have much to do with it. After the past 3 years fans are going to wait to see if they make it past round 1. With or without Dame.

Speaking as a season ticket holder who watches prices for all the games. Dame does not really move the needle on prices, whether he's in or out.

Giannis, however, is basically the needle. Without him, the floor falls out.

So without anticoagulation
It's the long season's defenestration
Out the window it goes
And the whole season blows
All we get is more playoff frustration

I'm not a conspiracy theorist about Dame. I think Doc is being straight about the hopes for his return, however they may be tinged by wishful thinking.

At least we know Bobby is coming back with fresh legs. And something to prove.

So with Bobby close to returning, was there a reason why we didn't use the hardship exemption to pick up an extra body, or was this just Horst asleep at the wheel again?

Deadline passed too late for the Bucks to apply.

9th consecutive winning season.

You'd have to go back to 86-87 to total 9 winning seasons before this current streak started (16-17)

Any idea what the max streak was during the in-between years of 87 and 16?

87-91 were all winning seasons, 4 in a row.
