Are there people that think that?

If so, they're nuts.

There were a few of us Bona Boys in the last draft thread that thought he'd be worth a 2nd round flier. As always though, it's awfully tough to fit another complete non-spacer in with Giannis. "Just throw him in the dunker's spot" isn't some cure all for a guy that can't dribble or shoot.

The shooting talent on this team is hilarious because Doc refuses to optimize it any way. Again, 55% on 3's the last two games and we barely beat a bunch of G-league scrubs because Doc ball constantly puts us at a disadvantage in the math game. Team is now #1 in 3PT efficiency on the year btw, and only 18th in attempts. Pathetic that the offense still looks this bad against teams that aren't actively tanking.

Yeah, I know as a fan I'm not a huge fan of 3pt spamming but when you have a Top 3 shooting team and are in the bottom third of attempts, that makes zero sense. Has a lot to do with lack of pace.

Or Doc is doing some 4-dimensional chess stuff and we're just going to bomb away come playoff time and hope to go on a heater.

I knew Giannis would dominate. So much so that I bet one dollar on it.

When teams form a 3 man wall at 18ft, having someone dive under the basket and making an entry pass over the top pretty much kills that defense.

We sprinkled in dunker spot stuff in 21, but we could have done more variations of it, and it shouldn’t have taken multiple full seasons to finally lean into that.
This is where a guy like Sims can really shine.

I'm guessing having so few players who are capable of driving and dishing has a huge effect and the number of 3 point attempts we generate. Yes, I also agree that pace is a factor.

It is extremely maddening how so much of prime-Giannis feels to have been wasted.

Yes, they're a very weak team, but I think Bona actually does a nice job on Giannis. I'd much rather have Bona than Smith (or about 20 other players drafted after pick 33 or undrafted).
This is the part where I remember Tyler Smith is on the team.

Yep. That game last night will allow him the opportunity to coast/rest more down the stretch.

Maybe a hot take, but I think there’s a good chance Giannis is a better player at 33 than he was at 28, just like how Lebron was better at 33 than he was at 28.

He only needs two more games to get to 65. I'd play him against Miami, and then one or both of the Detroit games depending on what they have to play for a week from now. If Doc even thinks about playing him in either B2B, then throw his ass in jail for criminal negligence.

Pat does a great job of cutting to the basket once the attention turns to Giannis, I wish we had someone less cooked than Pat could have some of his traits. We've seen a ton of dump offs/oops to Brook too. I think the spacing thing at C isn't as pronounced as some think in Giannis's current form.
