Damn, I still have high hopes for him.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I get the feeling the Sounds are going to lose a lot of 2-1 and 3-1 games this year. There's some decent pitching on the team, but very little offensive firepower. They've got Durbin and Ernesto and a bunch of meh after that.

Carolina, Biloxi, and Wisconsin all get going tomorrow night. All four teams will be in action. I am excite.

Carolina with Adamczewski, Bitonti, Di Turi, Made, Payne, and Pena is going to be a lot of fun. A little surprised Adamczewski is back in Carolina.

Wisconsin has Areinamo, Vauez, Burke, Perez, and Yophery.

No surprise that Pratt is starting the season in Biloxi. He's joined by Adams, EBJ, Lara, and Wilken. Xavier Warren is now listed at catcher which is interesting.

Nashville is unfortunately light on hitters. Black's hurt, and the only other guys I'm interested in are Durbin and Ernesto Martinez Jr. I probably won't watch this team much unless they're the only game on.

Braylon Payne just started his Mudcats season with a bomb, knocking in Made.

Are all of our minor league games streamed?

The top of the order for Carolina:

1 - Made
2 - Payne
3 - Pena
4 - Bitonti
5 - Adamczewski

Top for Biloxi:

1 - Lara
2 - Pratt
3 - Wilken
4 - Adams

How much fun is that?

Bishop Letson looks solid. Not overpowering by any means, sitting 91-92. But it's chilly and he looks like there might be some MPH to unlock. Really impressive sharp breaking ball, though. Only 20 years old.

2024 2nd rounder Bryce Meccage (RHP) is making his professional debut tonight for Carolina. 19 years old. Looking forward to this one.

Made not in the lineup for the second straight day. Sounds like personal issue back home.

Return of the Hot Sheet, and it's got my darkhorse pick for the org's Minor Leaguer of the year.

14. Josh Adamczewski, 2B, Brewers
Team: Low-A Carolina (Carolina)
Age: 19
Why He’s Here: .455/.600/1.091 (5-for-11), 3 R, 0 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 3 BB, 3 SO
The Scoop: The Brewers have become regarded in recent years as one of the better organizations for pitching development, especially when it comes to late-round finds. Now, they might have done the same on the offensive side. Milwaukee drafted Adamczewski in the 15th round in 2023 and has watched as he’s impressed evaluators with a short, quick swing that has produced surprising amounts of power. He posted at least one multi-homer game during minor league spring training, and he’s already racked up two triples and a home run during his first three games of the season with Low-A Carolina. For those keeping track, Adamczewski’s two triples this season are two more than he’d produced in 153 previous minor league at-bats. (JN)

18. Jacob Misiorowski, RHP, Brewers
Team: Triple-A Nashville (International)
Age: 23
Why He’s Here: 1-0, 0.00, 2 G, 1 GS, 8.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 7 BB, 11 SO
The Scoop: The Brewers’ righthander remains a tantalizing prospect but one who continues to struggle with his control. He’s started one game and made one lengthy relief appearance. His stuff is still exceptional. He sat at 97-98, topping out at 100.8 mph, and his cutterish power slider is harder than many pitchers’ fastballs (93-95). Misiorowski has shown he can throw the slider for strikes, but his fastball dances in and out of the zone. (JJ)

Adamczewski just looks like a polished, damage-doing hitter at the plate. Was impressed with him last season and he's off to a rocket start in A-ball.

Also returning is Stat Cast standouts and my large adult son made the list.

Ernesto Martinez Jr, 1B, Brewers

Martinez Jr. popped onto our radar last week by hitting a ball a monstrous 114.8 mph, well above what most major leaguers produce. The surface results haven’t quite matched the underlying metrics, but he remains a very exciting power bat.

Image

In the early going, he’s marrying elite raw power metrics with elite zone contact rates, and a patient approach. If Rhys Hoskins continues to struggle, the Brewers may turn to Martinez Jr. to infuse their lineup with some serious thump.

At what point do you just bring Misio up to see if he can throw strikes at the big league level? Or if there is genuine concern, do you quietly shop him while he is still a pretty hot prospect? At some point, kind of like a Tyler Black, its kind of like what more can you do at AAA. Misio I think probably can probably wait a bit yet but that tipping point is coming.
