Can Newell play C long term for us?

It's unlikely. Newell isn't a good defensive rebounder and is undersized at the 5.

In this modern NBA? Of course he can play C.. Undersized with 6'10? also not really! We see players with 6'8 and 6'9 playing small ball C, heck Billy D played 6'6 Jones there and 6'7 Liddell.

Yeah but I mean could he play it while helping make us a contender. Basically, can he be like Joakim.

I don't really know what to make of Newell. His reputation is that of a defender, but every scouting report I read kind of paints him as an offensive oriented player. I'm not sure there's another player in the draft with such a disparity between colloquial reputation and scouting reports

He looks 6'10 220. Even by modern NBA standards, this is undersized. Yeah, small ball 5s. Guys aren't usually centers at 6'8/6'9.

This guy is my next favourite C after Maluach. Could be an option at 15/16.

Walter Clayton Jr of Florida just had another terrific game. I don't know where he'll be drafted. Mocks have him going #25 to Orlando. But the kid is a better shooting version of Jalen Brunson. He's going to have some success in the NBA for somebody. Clutch shooter with great handles.

Based on where we are currently slotted to pick I think I like these players….

First round:
Neo Essengue (seems to be a carbon copy of OKCs Jalen Williams)
Thomas Sober: could be the rim protector we need
Derik Queen: reminds me of Zach Randolph

Second Round:
Jojo Tugler
Isaiah Evans

I’d be satisfied with any combo of those players, but whatever happens in free agency would shine a light on what would make most sense.

I'm also a fan of Essengue and would not be surprised if he moved into top 8. He's so long and fluid. Really good passer. Like the idea of having him and Matas at forward. A really big team

I really like Malauch, but think he may be gone by time Bulls pick. I would not be surprised if he went top 4.

In addition to those two, I like Collin Murray Boyles. Shades of Butler with a bit of Kaminga. Plus athlete, physical can score at the rim. Those are my 3 favorite so far in the 10-12 range.

I think he has some FVV to his game. I Would draft him with our pick though if we dont get lucky in draft and get a top 4 pick.

1. Range we’ll probably be picking… Malauch dropping would be a very good thing.

2. He’s obviously so raw you probably couldn’t play him regularly in the NBA for atleast 2Y. Multitude of issues (starting with core strength). *Project* (which this FO has had no problem drafting).

3. We kind of have a C rotation. 3 guys to be exact, with the MLE pickup rarely playing. As much as I want him gone, I see a strong chance Vuc stays. Even maybe resigns. Wouldn’t put it past AK for a second. This kind of leaves Malauch’s drafting, playing time, etc. all irrelevant. Either way if he was picked up by Chicago, he’d be looking at a 2028 debut.

That’s a big if. I think AK wants to focus on drafting another offensive talent.

Houston average age 21.8

Duke average age: 19.4

J'Wan Robert's is a senior had 12 rebounds. Joseph Tugler a sophomore had 8 rebounds. Experienced team was able to fluster him.

6'10 is NOT undersized for center dude.. thats 208-209cm! Undersized line ends somehow at 6'8 in modern NBA.. even 6'9 is borderline ok

6'10 is NOT undersized for center dude.. thats 208-209cm! Undersized line ends somehow at 6'8 in modern NBA.. even 6'9 is borderline ok

6'9, 220 lbs. He doesn't appear to have freakishly long arms, and he doesn't possess outlier athleticism. It's not all about height. Matas is 6'9/6'10 and you don't see people calling him a center.

Shorter than most 5s at 6'9. Physically smaller than most 5s at 220lbs. A reported 7'0 wingspan would put him at the bottom compared to other 5s.
