:D

Negotiation 101: start out with a high cost ask and then circle back to what you really wanted in the first place  j/k

But look at this:

Lopez/Mitch
KAT/?
OG/Hart
Mikal/Deuce
Brunson/Kolek

I mean that's not bad at all. Especially if OG continues to be a consistent scorer like we've seen recently.

Having two 7 footers that space is probably going to be a serious problem for opposing clubs.

Brook can also post up smaller matchups which takes away the ability to guard him with a wing.

Yeah he's not as quick as he was when he was younger but Brook still has moves down low.

His footwork in the post is a lot better than Karl's tbh. At least it was at his peak.

I love it.

Also, the move could be to integrate 3pac into the rotation at the 3 and have OG backup the 4 staggered.

More likely with Thibs you stagger Mikal to 3 when OG goes to the 4 and give Deuce more minutes. Which, tbh, isn't bad.

Trade Giannis for KAT. Mikal for Myles Turner.

Deuce
OG
Giannis
Turner

Brook is semi washed now which is partially why the bucks defense sucks. A decent guy off the bench though.

He's had some slippage, but some of it is Giannis too, and the fact they had to play with Dame. The Bucks have a 110 DRTG when Brook/Dame are off the court, a 111 DRTG when Brook is on but Dame is off, and a 119 DRTG when Dame is on and Brook is off. They have a 109.9 DRTG when Brook is on without Giannis and Dame. 114 with Giannis/Dame, and a 126 when it was Dame without Giannis/Brook.

With shooting being such a premium for a center, he'd be a good pickup and give lineup versatility.

He wasn't interested but I would have supported a Butler trade more than a Durant trade. He's still dynamic at both ends and as psycho as he can be at first he imposes a will to win. Durant teams kind of lollygag and he doesn't have the clamps anymore to make up for it.

I mean, Durant would obviously help on offense but he gives so much back now. No resistance to Giannis but a guy like that has to push his way over.

Idk I saw KD take down the Cavs by himself and he’s still playing at a super high level. His game is aging really good. I would take the chance. I think Brunson, OG and KD could be a special trio, even if it’s for a year or two. That’s prob your best chance to beat Boston imo.

See above.

He's at that point in his career where he can still make statements but I don't trust him to do it for a full year. I really think doubling down on defensive wings gets us further.

One place where I do agree is Brunson is better at feeding the wing than the post or PnfnR and the KAT needs to be fed to maximize his abilities. He's not as effective as even Randle at getting the ball on the wing and making something happen. So maybe the fit there isn't the best. We also haven't found KAT enough 3 looks. Durant's more like Randle in how he does his damage.

I’m not sure if I trust KAT as the second option though. I guess we’ll find out in the playoffs

There's no way I'm trading Kat plus whatever else needs to be included for a soon to be 37 year old Durant. The last few teams he's been on haven't made any real noise, he'll be a few years shy of 40, he's talked an extreme amount of crap about the Knicks, his contract will expire after next season, and he'll probably walk and we end up with nothing. Completely ridiculous trade. Giannis yes, but Durant is all Knicks for clicks and suckers take the bait.

Please let’s not give up any assets for a soon to be 38 year old dude that’s always hurt. A dude that has talked **** about the Knicks I’ll add. **** Durant and his thin ass skin.

I like KD's talent level but after thinking about it some more, his age and injury risk is too high to expend real assets on him.

We're better off standing pat, upgrading our Coach, using the tax payer MLE on bench depth and then letting this squad run it back again until the next trade deadline. Even Mitch can stay and be a starter next to KAT so that Hart could move to the bench in his more natural role.

I have Butler as a better all-around player than KD over the last 3 years or so. More well-rounded, and elevates your floor more. Durant is arguably the better ceiling raiser.

Different skill sets so fit matters. But for this team, with Brunson's relative lack of playmaking? I think Butler would make this team better than Durant today.

The question mark would be moreso the Jimmy-KAT mix off the court.
