I hope you've already set your boss up for vacation days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Foye. Next season Madrid and Mailand instead of Heidenheim or Kiel.

Crazy how much can change in a year.
Exactly 1 year ago we were 17th and 9 points behind the 15th.

Our schedule is still fairly difficult.
We have got Freiburg, Dortmund, Wolfsburg, München, Frankfurt and Leverkusen left from the top of the table.

Champions League in Mainz would be absolutely amazing. The club needs the money.

Europa League would be great, too, but financialöy not such a big step forward for Mainz.

I've actually seen your manager Bo Henriksen play in person a few times when he was at Kidderminster.

He was considered something of a legend in the third division at the time. Never would have imagined Bomber Bo in the English footballing wilderness would one day potentially coach Mainz to the CL. Don't want to jinx it, but I'm rooting for you.

Thanks guys.
Traveling to CL away games next season would be amazing. :D
Although probably half our team will be picked apart again after this season.

This match day is actually shaping up really well for Mainz.
We are the only team from spot 1 to 10 that won.
Everyone else draw or loss.

Frankfurt has an easy game against Union at home today but I hope they are tired from Europa League on Thursday.

Frankfurt lost, too.
We are the only team in the top 10 that won.
Perfect weekend for us.

The first time in the history of the Bundesliga that there has not been a single home win for two weekends in a row.

Burkardt and Amiri nominated for the national team. Happy for them.
Both are playing fanastic this season.

I don't understand why Atubolu isn't on the squad.
Still struggling to find a replacement for Neuer and you let your biggest goalkeeper talent play in the U21 rather than the NT?
It is not even a tournament year where you could argue you need to play the absolutely best goalkeeper performance-wise.

2:2 draw against Freiburg. Got a stupid red and had to play with 10 men for entire second half.
Good to keep Freiburg at distance at least.

We play the best attacking football I have seen in Mainz since the Schürrle Holtby Szalai years.

I just wish we hadn't sold Gruda in the summer.
He is not playing at Brighton and we would be a legitimate threat to make the CL spots with him.

Yeah, not getting to watch Gruda & Burkardt together is one of the most disappointing things about this season. Luckily you're still soaring and we've started to rally with those 4pts from Frankfurt & Bayern to keep us 3 results ahead of the final relegation spot.

Because somebody decided that Nübel has massive potential, for some reason...that and both Atubolu/Urbig are still eligible for the U21 team.

Baumann is an excellent stand in until ter Stegen gets back to 100% and Ortega is a very good #2, but one of those kids would leap Nübel for the 3rd spot if they couldn't still play for the U21s this cycle.

3rd division club Bielefeld beats Leverkusen in the cup and reaches the final of the DFB-Pokal! They beat four Bundesliga clubs on the way to the final: Union Berlin, Freiburg, Werder (of course...), and now defending champion Leverkusen.

Well done, Arminia. Now go get the cup.

7pts from Bayern, Frankfurt, and Freiburg, like everyone expected.

I once read something that went like this:

Müller doesn't beat you with his speed, he doesn't beat you with his technique, he doesn't beat you with his passing, he doesn't beat you with his strength.

He just beats you.

It does feel like the team is a bit handicapped now that they have something to lose.
1:1 draw against Kiel.
Next week without Amiri in Hoffenheim will be difficult as well.

Also, I don't understand why Bayern didn't just keep Müller for another season. I am pretty sure he would've played for free.

Yeah that's Ryan Giggs territory. To the dismay of us fans of other clubs it's 12 national championships alone, 13 after this season.

9-10k Mainz fans travelling to Hoffenheim on Saturday.
That's the most away fans for us in more than a decade.
Great to see.

Union Berlin vs. Stuttgart 4-4 at halftime. 8 goals in the first half for the first time in Bundesliga history.

Edit:
No more goals in the second half. Boring.
