Yeah, moving on from Chris Paul was very definitely not the right call for their O.

This thread question is best answered by begging the question..
The reason the Suns offense isnt elite, is because its offense is not elite.

I mean, there's that. Not terribly insightful, but highly true.
The video does make some good points, though. They are a bit stagnant, they don't have high-end PnR passers and their two best scorers are best in 1-on-1 matchups, which they can get only so frequently. Beal and KD haven't been healthy. They lost a primo primary playmaker in Paul two years ago (who is suddenly healthy for the Spurs, heh). They don't use the 3 nearly enough given their proficiency at range, they blow donkeys on the offensive glass, are a little below average with ball protection. They don't have a remarkable frontcourt, either.
Booker is pretty good about offense in general, even with his 3pt shooting not being elite. He's 13th in drives per game, and he's 9th in potential assists per game, leads the entire league in secondary assists per game, too, and 10th in assist points created. He does a lot for them. KD does a lot less besides hitting his shots. I mean, his raw APG tell some kind of story to begin with (7 APG) and at 11.6% TOV, he's doing a pretty good job of making good use of all his possessions. He draws fouls well, he's crushing it at the line, he murders the mid-range and the long two. He's literally just having a down year from 3 and is otherwise killing it.
But KD has been pretty tame, Beal has been injured and yeah. They don't do the other things very well for possession control. And they're horrid on D.
So, I suppose in the end, you're right: the Suns' offense isn't elite because it isn't elite, heh. But Booker is a bit underrated. He IS top-10 in O-EPM this year, and there are reasons for it. He's only like +1.5% rTS as a scorer because he's shooting under 34% from 3 in volume, but he's doing basically everything else imaginable (especially creating for others) at a pretty high level.

So the Suns think they will get a kings ransom for Durant? Dream on. He's still a great player, but he's 36 and fragile.
Really the problems with the Sun's offense are twofold: (1) their "big three" has been reduced to only one healthy player, and (2) their defense isn't good enough to generate offense from turnovers, deflections, etc. Their young guys play hard, but they aren't good enough yet.
