The threat stands!
Black can be kcp's replacement

Hopefully we agree that Caldwell-Pope AND Anthony with the two FRPs will lead to a guard and wing upgrade. And that that would be a positive outcome.
Depends on who's available.... Its probably going to be colin sexton but he won't be that expensive

Certainly I support the Magic trading Anthony, Howard and either of two FRPs for Sexton.

Your idea that "Black will replace Caldwell-Pope" has a basic implication that you want a Suggs/Black starting backcourt. Now I am not sure that is your thought process here.

He'd also be over $10m cheaper per season. We'd need to trade Cole for someone we could use.

There is currently an about 75% chance the Magic will make the playoffs. There is also a very real chance that two Western teams with a better record than the Magic will be in the lottery.

This means it is fairly likely Orlando's pick will be 17. And the Denver pick is actually rising (i.e. teams are overtaking the Nuggets in the rankings. This pick could be 22.

That actually has these two picks quite a bit closer than how many of us these was seen even a month ago.

I didn't realize the Nuggets lost.

Ideally we can include Jett in the trade to upgrade Cole and just swap KCP for a different flavor outright.

We don't need to trade KCP, we need this type of vet 3&d specialist however, you are right we need to trade Cole
I think the starting lineup might need a shakeup on principle. WCJ and KCP are the only spots that reasonably could see any turnover, unless we get really aggressive and trade Suggs but I think a Suggs trade would be too reactionary.

Overhauling the bench is lower impact. Cole for sure, we need a 6th man. Clarifying moves around the second big would be useful (Goga, Moritz, and JI is a logjam). Upgrading the third forward would be wonderful so that TDS or Houstan can fight it out for 4th forward minutes.

Need - An actual PG who can shoot the 3-ball respectably.
Want - a Shooting Guard who plays good to great defense and scores 15ppg
What I'll get - Mo, Ji, WCJ, Goga tripled down on. (Of the 4 at the moment i'm taking Mo)

He's going to be a good player, but he should be there around the Denver pick.

Most mocks still have him in the late 1st or early second. NBAdraftnet has him #19 to Det which doesn't make sense. Unless he does something to just pop eyes out in his personal workouts, then I think he will stay there in the mid to late 20s. With Denver playing worse and possibly slipping down further, its very possible he will be there with the Den pick (early 20s). If that's the case, then take him at all cost.

I like him as a Gary replacement. Combo guard with high floor but low ceiling. Can create his own shot and decent playmaker avg what 6ast? He is older then most in his class but that's ok. We need NBA-ready guys not and less projects (AB). Hes projected late 1st to early second so we would have to use denver pick to get him. Im ok with that if we use our FRP to trade for some starting level PG.

team move both picks, but at minimum move our pick and then take BPA with Denver pick.

Yaxel Lendenborg is transferring to Michigan if he doesn't get a feel he will be drafted where he wants in the draft. So hopefully that is extra Michigan motivation for the Magic to take him.

Realistically there's 0 minutes for a rookie, and if we make both picks it'll further support the notion that Weltman doesn't make trade calls and is a passenger.

Was high on him earlier, liked him a bit less for us the more I watched. Not sure I trust the shot even though it was previously pretty good. Career 67% free throw shooter kind of lends to that skepticism. He scores a lot in crafty ways like backing his man down and hitting little left hand floaters. I worry about that with our spacing.

I think there would be many players I would prefer at the Nuggets slot at this point personally.
