Is he getting paid in sushi? I kid I kid. :D

Yeah I guess I don't see this as a one or the other thing. We're probably paying him proportionate to what we'd expect to play him with the other guys on our squad. Another school will do the same, but with a bigger role - maybe even with a smaller school and less "payroll" - it could balance out to be more cash.

If you're not playing at a blue blood (which might change the calculus still in this landscape - but I think TBD), and you can go somewhere to get more PT and more money, why wouldn't you? That's an assumption of course - just my best educated guess.

ESPN's way too early rankings has them #14.

14. Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin found success this past season playing at a much faster tempo than previous teams under Greg Gard. The Badgers were also more reliant on the 3-point shot. Is that their new formula? Gard has already succeeded in the transfer portal in a big way, landing three potential starters in Nick Boyd (San Diego State), Andrew Rohde (Virginia) and Austin Rapp (Portland). All-Big Ten guard John Blackwell is also back to lead the way.

Projected starting lineup

Nick Boyd (13.4 PPG at San Diego State)
Andrew Rohde (9.3 PPG at Virginia)
John Blackwell (15.8 PPG)
Austin Rapp (13.8 PPG at Portland)
Nolan Winter (9.4 PPG)

I'm not familiar with the portal guys. Will Gard still be able to play the fast paced game with the new guys?

Yes. The starting 5 should be top tier and very capable of getting up and down the floor.

The bench is pretty sad right now, but there's a long way to go.

The donte/green juxtaposition there was some solid cinematography.

I didn't realize the volleyball team has some spring games. I stumbled on the match vs.Marquette tonight on BTN

I biked through Fieldhouse traffic which reminded me about the game. Only saw last half of the 3rd game, but I'll watch re-broadcast later.

I think they'll have a faster, more varied offense.

I'm excite.

I love that. It's fun how this random sport I didn't care about at all five years ago has become appointment viewing for the family.

Dying at Sheffield referring to Madison Quest as "Mad Dog." In a right and just world (and one where MacIntosh is not AD), there would be an expedited order on a Costacos Brothers-style poster featuring Fuerbringer and the freshman with the heading "Mad Dog and Chuck." Maybe it has a Miami Vice-theme, maybe it's something set in a post-apocalyptic hellscape. Look, there's flexibility here, but it do have potential.imo
