It is funny how much objectively better guys like Malone and Jenkins are than Lee but because we’re “establishing a premier franchise” we won’t be making any changes until 2027.

At the same time, accomplished coaches like Jenkins and Malone would not be interested at all in any inheritance of tanking orders.
I think the GM needs to bolster the roster and establish a stable system on both ends next year, then return to the market for established leadership. In the interim, it's Scooby-Doo at the helm.
It has been written...

Re: Around the NBA 12
Tier 1: Like the teams, they have at least a chance, and it doesn't hurt that I live in one of these cities, and have lived in the broadcast area of the other:
Nuggets, Wolves
Tier 2: Maximum chaos- these teams won't get anywhere close to a title but it would be super dope if they did:
Kings, Hawks, Clippers
Tier 3: idc
everyone else
Tier 4: nah F these teams:
Heat, Lakers, Celtics
Nuggets, Wolves

I want harden to win one. He’s a pain in the ass but so underrated in my opinion.

Tend to agree with this but probably drop the Hawks down a tier as division rivals.

Re: Around the NBA 12
Coverage at the nba nationally is an absolute joke. There is no other mainstream sport where people get paid to be analysts of the sport and they openly laugh and joke that they don't actually watch the sport and openly laugh and make fun of the product, And continue to get future jobs.
It's just such a slap in the face to all of the would be potential analysts and former players that would kill to be in that position and would take the job seriously and put it ounce of effort into actually knowing the product. Nbc has a chance to really change Landscape of coverage starting next year and I hope they do the right thing. But my guess is they will fall into the same trap that TNT ESPN and ABC have all done over the past 20 years when Barkley made it cool to be ignorant.

I actually wouldn't mind the Lakers winning it.
LeBron winning another is cool with me, Luka winning his first is cool.
I like Redick and Austin Reaves as players.
I mean outside of Laker Fans I don't have a good reason to root against them.

I think it is legitimately one of the biggest problems for the league that their media ecosphere is completely dominated by former players and older fans that don't actually follow the sport and constantly bash the league and all its players. They desperately need to massively overhaul the NBA media and fire tons of people imo.
I was so happy when it seemed like for a minute the Inside The NBA crew were finally going to be axed with the new media deal. I would love to see them replaced by a crew of Kevin Garnett, Jamal Crawford, and maybe Allen Iverson. There are plenty of popular players from the past that actually appreciate the current league and aren't just bitter/jealous haters.

Re: Around the NBA 12
I mean it's one thing to admit that you haven't watched a Hornets game since January because the team gave up and we're trotting out our G League team while all of our players are injured or resting. But to say that you havent watched the Pacers all season, who have basically been in playoff position since January is utterly ridiculous.
It's embarrassing to think that the league can't find former players who are articulate and knowledgeable and charismatic. It can't be that **** hard.

Re: Around the NBA 12
I'd be fine not having to listen to really any former player. They range from barely coherent with room temp IQ to insufferable **** front runners and **** talkers.
I'd also be fine if the Stephen A and Skip Bayless personalities would disappear.
I don't have cable, nor have I watched ESPN or consumed any major sports media in a decade or so, but it really seems like 99.9% of big media is hot trash.
Laying off guys like Lowe while Kendrick Perkins and Molly Qerim can still get sound bytes says all you need to know.

100% agree. The NBA media are 99% lazy hot take merchants.

They’re a way better healthy basketball team.
