Got a chuckle from a post on another forum,... that OKC was playing so well,.. they had won 11 of their last 10. LOL - he did come back correct himself - it was a mistake - he was looking at both their win streak 11, and the record of the last 10 games before the post.... The funny parts were the reply comments basically agreeing with his original statements,... :D

they continued their streak beating Detroit last night. that loss and our win drops magic number v Detroit to 3.

Bucks number is 4. they play Sixers tonight so numbers shouldn't change until after Friday's games.

Miami is up 6 games on Toronto with only 8 to play. Guess I'm ready to write off that 2nd rounder

not sure when this happened but it looks like Miami will pick around 10th and could fall even lower should they survive the play-in.

Pacers woke up late on second and won easily. Detroit also won and can finish no worse than 6th. Bucks need one more win for that. Magic numbers for 4th are 3 for bucks and 2 for pistons. We only have one easy game left

@ Denver
H Washington
H Cleveland
H Orlando
@ Cleveland

IMO,... we should win at least 2/3 of the homestand. If we win nothing else (2/5),... Detroit has to win out all 5 to tie us,.. and we have the tie-breaker (3-1 head to head)?

Detroit:
H Memphis
H Sacramento
H NYK
H Milwaukee
@ Milwaukee

Pretty much hope we are locked in at this point at 4? I know we haven't hit the magic numbers yet,... but with Cunningham & Harris Day-to-day, I don't think Detroit will run the last last 5?

The tiebreaker makes our magic number 2. That means if we win only 1 game Detroit must win out. if we win twice as you suggest, Detroit is toast.

but Bucks own the tiebreaker with us making that magic number 3. at this point we don't know whether Cleveland or Orlando will need wins, Cleveland needs to stay ahead of Boston and would like to get ahead of OKC. Orlando is in a battle with the Hawks for 7th,

Denver will want to win Sunday as 3-8 in the West is too close to call.

the optimistic route is to beat Washington and Orlando and hope Detroit (or someone else) beats the Bucks at least once. if we lose to both Denver and Orlando it could get tense at the end.

Grizzlies beat the Pistons Saturday in Detroit in a must win game for the Grizzlies who are fighting for 3rd-6th place with the Nuggets, Lakers, Warriors, Clippers, and Timberwolves in a very fluid western conference.

Bucks were down to Miami but closed strong and won in OT. 3-6 & 7-10 teams now set but order TBD.

Pistons lost to Kings but can still catch the Bucks. we need to win and for the Bucks to lose tomorrow. That locks 4th without needing to be at the Cavs.

Do you suppose losing to the Pacers was the straw that broke Denver's coach's back?

It was their 4th loss in a row 3 at home, but I think with injuries and inconsistent play from Gordon, Murray, Porter Jr., and Westbrook Jokic’s supporting cast has made them vulnerable to losing. Braun has played well and their bench is thin.

Timberwolves - home loss
Spurs -home loss
Warriors - road loss
Pacers - home loss

If we were to pick out the worst loss of the four it would be the loss at home to the Spurs. The Timberwolves and Warriors were battling for their playoff lives and our record and 4th place in the East is equivalent to their record.

Denver firing was reported as as difference between coach and front office but GM was also fired

Bucks were down 92-70 early in the 4th but won the quarter 40-13 to win by 7. Oh, well. Magic number is still 1.

My guess is they never wanted to keep either this long, but then they went out and won the championship a couple years ago and Denver felt like they had to keep them?

Could be completely wrong here,.. but some of the reporting from the Denver beat writers suggested that Malone and Booth weren't getting along,... and it was getting worse. Booth was trying to tell Malone who should be in his rotations. Malone was telling Booth that he had not signed players that were playable on their team. To me, feels like the owner had had enough and ended the bickering & infighting by getting rid of both of them,... now?

Oh, agreed right now. I just think they never wanted to get in his position anyway. And judging by the fact they’re not trusting either party to keep around and build around, they clearly had no strong opinions of keeping either under any circumstance.

You were spot on,... according to this, they had already decided to let both go after the season, 'days earlier' than the actual firing. But, the tension was affecting the team.
