He doesn't want to come here, neither do the Knicks have the assets. Since coming to the NBA, KD has always hated the Knicks. There's quotes of him saying how he "hates the Knicks" and hates "Madison Square Mecca".

However he has a profound love affair with Anthony Edwards. The Wolves tried to trade for him at the deadline but weren't offering enough.

The idea of the Knicks being thrown out there is likely to force the Wolves to pay the Sun's asking price.

All arrows are pointing to him ending up on the Timberwolves... I'll be circling back around to this thread when he is traded..

Agreed, and I’ll add that any team that trades any real assets for him is foolish, it’s something the Knicks would have done in the 2000s.

I have Butler as a better all-around player than KD over the last 3 years or so. More well-rounded, and elevates your floor more. Durant is arguably the better ceiling raiser.

Different skill sets so fit matters. But for this team, with Brunson's relative lack of playmaking? I think Butler would make this team better than Durant today.

The question mark would be moreso the Jimmy-KAT mix off the court.

How did I forget about that

This is a very measured take on Durant from you.

It's crazy to think that there's a possibility that one or both or Giannis and/or Jokic could become available within the next 1-12 months.

CRAZY!

KAT + Bridges (or Hart) is a pretty good starting point... (in other words... screw KD)

I’ll be honest, I defended thibs to my buddies for awhile. I realized I was wrong when my 11 year old was laughing at thibs rotations and saying **** like the game will tell you what to do in a joking manner.

I don;t know about KD he's 37?? He may have a fall off a cliff season next season like PG did this season with Sixers.

Not comparable by the slightest. Some can even argue 76ers are amidst the PG experience. A real return to form for him.

76ers were already in a bad position. And George was never an efficient scorer save for a 2 (maybe 3) seasons in his career.

Knicks are in a better position. KD continues to prove that he is an efficient scorer.

Unless Knicks surprise in the PO, I think fans will soon realize that KD offers what we do not currently have.

Offensive rebounding won't be an issue because Knicks won't miss a FG with KD on the floor.

This is a valid argument if he was coming for free. It's not a complete or valid argument when you have to trade 2/5 of your starting lineup for him, which is what is being suggested in this thread.

I think Knicks can get this done with only losing JHart, average prospects, picks, filler. This will likely require KD signing his pricey extension that might turnoff other teams.

We don't have $31M of filler to add to Josh Hart

ESPN trade machine says it works if you add Mitch and a few others. Only Hart is a starter.

Even if you suspended disbelief enough to think Phoenix would take this deal, who is supposed to play when KD inevitably misses 15-30 games?

You just traded away 3 rotation players who average ~90 MPG combined as Knicks. Then you want to add picks on top of that.
