I don't buy that. Denver played real TEAM ball in their Championship run, the role players played their roles perfectly, so I'd think that some of that credit goes to the coach for piecing it together. Not saying that Malone is a great coach but he's not a really bad coach.
Just about every coach had a Hall of Fame player or two carry them to titles, it doesn't make them bad coaches because they had great players lead them to championships. The timing of this is stupid, just a few weeks before the playoffs because they had a losing skid with no Jamal Murray mind you. The only way this makes sense, just like with Memphis, is if Morant and Jokic demanded a change in which case you have to listen to your star player.
