They did "play the kids." But the scoreboard don't lie.

2023 NBA CHAMPION NUGGETS FIRE CALVIN BOOTH AND MIKE MALONE

Why GMs don't build on and why coaches hate playing the kids. They're ass.

TWO DAYS AGO:

It’s Time for the Nuggets’ Young Players to Step Up in the Playoffs

The team has placed greater responsibility on young, unproven players such as Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, and Julian Strawther—decisions that have led to mixed results. The departures of veteran contributors like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Bruce Brown, and Jeff Green have left gaps in the rotation while integrating Russell Westbrook into the system remains a work in progress. Combined with Denver’s recent slide in the standings, the road back to the Finals appears far more daunting, with the likelihood of a tough first-round matchup. Yet, this path may ultimately prove beneficial. If Denver hopes to win another title, their young players must seize the moment.

Denver’s front office took a significant risk by parting ways with key veterans like Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, and KCP over the last two summers. If the team falls short of another title, some criticism will inevitably fall on Calvin Booth’s decisions. However, the young players the Nuggets have invested in possess the talent to develop into long-term solutions. Ultimately, it’s up to them to prove it—starting in the playoffs.

They never recovered after the double OT game to Minnesota. The timing is insane, but there's been long talk of Malone & the front office at each others throats for the party two years. Plus they're finally seeing post season Westbrook which isn't good.

You got anything on why Malone was at odds with the brass?

As to the Clippers, I'm not an L-Frank fan but I think Ty is unfairly maligned--he's universally respected throughout the league. Together, instead of backing up the truck and being dead in the water now, they put together a watchable team and DID give a half-dozen young players a fair--IMO--chance [see post above]. And they dumped guys like BBJ and Diabate to give OTHER kids a slot.

Ty Lue syndrome and of course Russel Westbrook. What else could it be.

And BBJ and Diabate are gone. That's water under the bridge. Front office and Lue got fortunate that Kawhi got heathly and is starting to look like superstar Kawhi, Zu made the leap, Norm leveled up, and Harden stayed hungry and healthy. That's the bottom line imo.

Not looking at anyone in particular but crazy how in the G league a player can average 30/12/10 then go play in the NBA and average 0/1/0.
I know the playing time isn’t the same but it’s more about the competition

Sounds like Jordan Miller. I'm not sure he makes the team next year. He's got a contract but its not fully guaranteed. If Batum is out for the rest of the week I think Kobe Brown gets a look. He was solid last night. He said he was upset that he sat the bench and couldn't help the team last year in the playoffs against the Mavs. Massive opprotunity for him right now if Batum is out. More solid showings and the team will pick up his team option next season. Its all about getting or not getting confidence with these young guys.

It is what it is. Depending on how the season ends, maybe can attach a player or the two 2nd rounders we got in the Bogdan/Mann trade to the 30th pick and move up into the 20's. Get a big or the point guard from Florida, Walter Clayton Jr.
