I'd be shopping him while there's still some question of whether or not he can start.

RHP Manuel Rodriguez now in Brewers top 30 on MLB list. Had 11 K in his first start at A+.

Prospects Live today. Players primed to skyrocket in 2025:

Milwaukee Brewers - Brailyn Antunez, OF

This one's more so a product of me really liking the player, and the organizational fit. The Brewers who in the last few years have produced more DSL stars than any other org with the likes Jackson Chourio, Jesus Made, Luis Pena, and Yophery Rodriguez (prior to trading him to Boston). I believe Brailyn Antunez is next in line. Arguably the best Venezuela born player in the 2025 class, Antunez hails from the same hometown as Jackson Chourio, Maracaibo. Antunez is a pure centerfielder. He has elite speed, and pairs it with a great first step and exceptional arm. In the batters box, he possess fantastic bat speed, and plate skills. He flashes above average game power and that will only get better as he continues to fill out his frame. He'll debut in the DSL this year and I'll be watching very closely.

It would be really nice if Antunez and Fenelon look good in the DSL this year. Acosta too for that matter.

But the Brewers are all of the sudden pretty thin in terms of OF prospects. They gotta hit on their 2025 signing class.

BA: 5 Pitching Prospects Who Stood Out Over MiLB Opening Weekend

Manuel Rodriguez, RHP, Brewers
Going toe-to-toe with Soto was Rodriguez, a young righthander signed by the Brewers in 2022 out of Mexico for $40,000. He’s been a steady performer over the last three seasons, reaching Low-A at 18 years old and beginning 2025 with High-A Wisconsin. Rodriguez ranks 28th in the Brewers’ system and exhibits some of the best strike-throwing ability in the organization. He got the start on Friday against Cedar Rapids and made headlines by striking out 11 over 4.1 innings of work.

Eight of the first ten batters Rodriguez faced went down via the strikeout. He struck out the side in both the first and the third innings and worked into the fifth. His lone run allowed was unearned, as a fielding error by Hedbert Perez allowed Kyle DeBarge to cross the plate. Rodriguez generated 21 swinging strikes, showing excellent command of his primarily four-pitch mix.

Despite well below-average stuff, Rodriguez has found success with a combination of command and deception. He showed four pitches in a four-seam fastball, cutter, sweeper and changeup, the latter of which he threw only one time. Rodriguez’s fastball has true cut-ride shape but shows only pedestrian ride while sitting 88-89 and touching 90 mph at peak. His cutter sits in the 81-83 mph range with ride and heavy horizontal break and the sweeper sits in the high 70s with over a foot of sweep. The latter was his best bat-missing pitch during this start, but he used the cutter with more regularity.

Rodriguez has starter traits, but the extreme lack of fastball velocity makes it a question as to whether or not he can succeed at the highest levels.

Haven't yet really thought of him as much of a prospect but he'll be one to keep an eye on. He held his own last year in Carolina by not walking guys.

I was watching the AAA game on Thursday and kind of was digging the Sounds view of Nashville in outfield and that brewery deck off left field. I was kinda surprised how empty it was. Is that the norm for Sounds game? It didn’t seem super cold or anything.

Curious which one gets here first. Feel like Durbin could get Capra’s spot soon. If Payamps continues to struggle, could see an “injury” and Yoho brought up.

Sounds like Civale had a set back so maybe one of those starters get a shot at some point but right now seems pretty set with Peralta, Patrick, Quintana, Priester, Alexander with Tobias Myers near a return. Priester if gets roughed around could end up in Nashville I suppose.

Ernesto I feel is blocked unless Bauers gets hurt.
