Assume our expected depth
Poeltl / 1st
Barnes / Mogbo
Ingram / [Agbaji / Battle]
Barrett / [Walter / Dick]
Quickley / Shead

The minutes remaining are from injuries.

I don't follow the draft. But it would be nice if there was a big that could play the 4 and 5 off the bench for 25+ mpg next season. Then have BI soak up the few left over minutes at the 4.

Dick is the odd man out. Shead, Walter, and Agbaji are ahead of him.

Luckily we still have a few years. That starting lineup just doesn't sit well with me. I don't think they gel. 2 shooters and 1 thru 3 aren't known for there defence (to put it kindly).

Derrick Queen might fit that bill.

Queen will work, and we might trade Barrett, since their defense may not work together in the long term.

I agreed with this when it came out and I think it all applies to his NBA game. He looks like a 6 man scorer type. He works hard on defense but I think his feet are heavy and he is not a playmaker. He looks pretty bad to me as handler. I do buy his self-creation on the perimeter and I think he is at his best catch and shoot. I'd get him time with Drew Hanlen or Olin Simplis to build those guard ball skills.

Are we watching the same player this season?

-I think he's easily a starter, should be pushing RJ for the starting role. (or 6th man like Manu Ginobili)
-Light on his feet
-Can be play maker, quick decision maker

Does need to work on his handle.

He's a star in the making.

Pull up middy!
Shot-clock beater.
Baseline cut layup.
Good defense!

It's interesting to note his wingspan does kind of affect his burst. That rare combo of length and burst is why Mitchell is so good. It's probably the most limiting part of Walter, if he had that kind of burst and pop he'd be a future superstar. Is there anyway a 20 year old can develop that?

Unlikely. He might need to be crafty with footwork in getting to the rim. It is known for his lack of burst, however, he can also build on top of his strength in shooting. He is unlikely to be as good as Barrett on offense, but he can be as good as Quickley, and improve his pull up 3.

I’m shocked people see a star in the making. I’m seeing more of a star role player in the making.

He isn't going to be a go-to scorer but he has real two way ability. We're looking at a good POA defender that can stretch the floor and draw fouls when he's given a 4 on 3 advantage in the half court. Next year will be telling whether he can make a jump to the starting role, if he comes in a lot better after the summer and outperforms Gradey it'll make for an interesting locker room dynamic. I think we did a big diservice to Gradey gifting him a role he'd eventually end up losing.

He's reaching the territory of being given unrealistic expectations by fans who end up inevitably disappointed

The goal for him next year should be to anchor the bench unit. But I could also see the Raps starting him for his defense, of course, depending on their offseason moves.

Ya, I'm seeing 6th man potential with him. Not seeing the all-star potential many hear speak of.

Still a terrific draft pick.

He’s got mo Pete type upside. Not bad for 19 th pick.
