These super late season firings by playoff teams have been bonkos.

Ron Swanson wrote:I'd have Malone below Jenkins for sure, but Malone is still a good coach that I'd confidently put in the top half. The question would be how much of the offense he ran was due to Jokic (they've been dead last in 3PT attempts in both seasons since the championship), and conversely, how much of the defensive struggles/scheme failings were due to, well.....Jokic.

Don’t forget the inflated on/off Jokic numbers because he plays terrible bench lineups and doesn’t really run an offense without Jokic out there.

I think he’s solid, but replaceable

it's almost paradoxical. like if they aren't important why fire them?

Jokic doesn’t dunk enough for casuals to want to steal him as much as Giannis.

Jokic is in a tier by himself ahead of everyone.

I have each player in their own individual tier. They're all terrific (except Olynyk, he's the worst!)!

If we aren't the talking about just offense there is a debate for that. If we are talking about all around game, no way.

Takes a lot of pressure off the Giannis trade talks by big media. Now they will dream up ways to get Jokic instead.

I remember that. And after KOC ran the piece, everyone asked Booth why he did the whole thing on the record.

Well at least Denver did it right and also canned the GM. So they can properly hire a GM first, who then hires the coach. That scenario where we move Doc into the front office would not be good.

for a brief moment, i felt like i understood the NBA. right now, i have no idea what's going on. there are clearly forces at play which are impossible to predict and understand unless you are privy to all relevant knowledge. That will never be the case for us fans, so.... if this just continues to get more chaotic, it could actually be pretty fun. not for teams with generational players who just want some stability and a chance to build a legit contender.. but fun for those who have given up on title chances and just want to watch the spectacle.

That would be the smart way to do it of course. The wild card is Jenkins. Could be they want to get him before anyone else. Then it would be coach first then GM.

If Doc gets bumped up it should be POBO and still hire a GM who controls personnel. Make Doc's position mostly ceremonial, he can play plenty of golf and stay out of the way. He gets paid. And he gets fired without getting fired to save face.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'm not. Ham is on deck. Firing Doc now and elevating Ham would be yet another coaching blunder.

Nurse, Vogel, Bud, Malone have all won titles in the past six years and have since been sacked. Only Kerr and Mazzula have survived. NBA has become a tad ruthless.
