I'd wait to see who they hire as G.M. first. A solid G.M. will be able to quickly transform this team via the draft, trades, FA and set the Nuggets up for the back 3rd of Jokic's career. If it's not some dynamic young guy with a fresh perspective and he doesn't feel any substantive change is forthcoming then yeah, get out of dodge.

And no he's not retiring to go play with his ponies. This guy is a basketball madman.

People will hate the guy if he does this. I'm not sure he'd be keen on that. I wonder how much he cares what others think?

Who will hate him? It's not like the Lakers will be coming off a 73 win season, and most Jokic fans just want what gives him the best chance to win. It'll be a dream team for Euro fans especially.

If I was OKC or Houston, I'd be calling Denver and offering all of the picks to prevent this from happening.

Jokic will be a Denver lifer.

Huge disclaimer here...

They exclude Nuggets from their odds. So, it's a scenario of "If Jokic were to leave" (excluding current team).

Nuggets are still the heavy favorites to retain him, given that the "Favorites" are Lakers at +500 odds of next team...

Jokic strikes me as a guy who will retire earlier than we all think.

YES! That being out of the way... Who has assets to realistically trade for Jokic? I know OKC has but i doubt they would want to ruin a good thing they have. I know LAL can get away with trading Bronny and a waterboy to get him but lets say the NBA doesnt want to gamble with the pitchforks this time. So who is a real candidate?

Unless Denver truly falls off the rails I hope he doesn’t. The stars that stay with one franchise for their career are rare and legendary

Unfortunately, he's probably going to end up on the Lakers.

LeBron was best in the world and partnered with a player similar to Wade level in Luka. People still haven't got over it and it happened 15 years ago.

Because it was unprecedented at the time. These days it's expected.

Jokic averages 30/11/10 shooting better than Curry in 3pt %
He has only ever had 1 career coach
Play-offs start next week
Home court advantage and their 2nd best player returning from injury
They had won a championship

why would a business do something so unprofessional

It takes Towns and Gobert or Davis and Howard to stop Jokic, Wolves got rid of Towns and the Nuggets were Contenders

Jokic enjoys Luka

Irrelevant, he'll have been traded to the Lakers for peanuts by then, they just fired their GM and the league will install a Nico Harrison like mole to be their next one if not Nico Harrison himself to make it happen (that would be very on the nose if the league actually used Nico Harrison again, though)

Obviously sucks for Nuggets fans to see this but as a fan of the league, I don't want Jokic stuck on a franchise that isn't going to pay whatever is necessary to make sure we see him at his best surrounded by the best team possible.

I hope he stays in Denver, but if he doesn't, I hope he goes to a new Vegas expansion team debuting that year (he can opt in to his PO if they aren't starting until the 2028 season). League, if you're reading this, I promise to buy season tickets if 33 year old Jokic is playing in Vegas.
