IMO it’s unlikely but with the chaos president anything is possible .

He can't enter and leave the US, this means we won't be taking him.

1. Cooper
2. Harper
3. V.J.
4. Ace

7/8/9 - Tre/Queen/Fears.
Really can’t decide how I would rank these three.

10. Maluach
11. Jon

What I’m really struck by with this draft and our roster is that if we don’t take Maluach or Queen we are definitely going to have to move one or more people. Our rookies plus Gradey and Ochai this year just played too well (great problem to have) to have them just rot on the bench while a VJ/Tre/whoever gets their minutes.

Yeah, sure, the g league is there as an option but with how high we are picking I’m being optimistic that the pick will come in performing at a level that warrants them getting minutes over our current players. So just from an asset management perspective I’d want to get something for whoever it is that would be getting the bench before we drive down the value they have built this year.

Alternatively, we could also look to trade the pick if we don’t feel that the player we would be getting is, in fact, that much better than what we’ve got. Maybe package the pick with RJ to get an upgrade somewhere. Totally talking out of my hat with that, I have no idea what is available in trade right now and I actually like RJ. Still, can’t say thinking about what an RJ plus pick offer might get us isn’t at least a little bit interesting.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually really like this team and all of the players. It just seems like we have a bunch of very solid players that could be *perfect* as second/third best players on a championship team, or co-number ones on a team that could excel to the level of our pre-kawhi/danny/marc teams. But if we really want to step into the highest level we need a bit of an upgrade at our top end.

The only drawback in doing a trade like this is that you’re not operating from a place of complete information. Due to the lack of continuity you really honestly don’t have that much of an idea of how these parts fit together right now and what are *truly* your biggest holes and strengths. When we made those trades that got us the championship we had multiple years of history with all of the players that were on those teams and had an in depth knowledge of where that that team had holes.

And of course none of this essay applies if we get #1. Then you take Cooper and run.

Top 4 are top 4 with VJ and Ace could go either way.

At 7 or 8 Khaman then Tre then Kon. Some like Derik’s skill sets and I do on Off but this team needs Def beyond beating teams that laughing as they tank better than you. I’m very concerned DQ will not develop 3, D up or add muscle while slimming 10 #s down.

Some did not want to trade down if we pick a wing? If you get Tre or Kon at 7-9 then I’m on phone with Orlando trying to trade Gradey D for 15th pick if T Sorber is there + 2028 2nd { LAl or Wash} + 2030 2nd Mil
Orlando gets a shooter to start with Suggs as PG and then KCP off bench for more Def. Gradey is NBA proven and most would say he should have been top 10 in his draft now.
We get a very good C that can learn backup and fill in for Jak as needed and 2 decent up side seconds. I think both Kon and Tre will be better than G D and if they don’t D up J’KW and RJ will eat Mins. Add Depth PG at 39 and bring back CB with any $ left. See how much you can win next year!
