Re: RS 24/25 - Mavs vs Lakers (Wed 7:30PM)
Mavs will be in the play in, but I'd be shocked if they get the 9th seed since Sac has the tie breaker.
The pathetic Suns are out, they need to win 3 more than the Mavs, I doubt they can win 2 of the remaining games.

Lakers have been killed by tge schedule because of the fires, they will choose one game to play, either OKC on Tuesday or DAL on Wednesday, we'll see what happens.

Lakers are a 4.5 point favorite.
Mavs are 7-2 in the last two meetings.
Both teams are 5-5 in their last 10 regular season games.

Mavs convert Williams, they chose to not wait 2 days and sign both Williams and Edwards
?t=jqoQBdKo1mtCrFE38xrmFw&s=19
I find the fact Mavs reduced their season to just beat Luka at home out of spite pathetic and I wish Luka pours 50 point triple double on them and call out Nico from the court in front of packed AAC.

Are you sure they have already converted him? I'm reading here later this week.

I hope Luka embarrasses the Mavericks and I hope the fans in the arena cheer him on as he does

You can be sure that Kidd will be doubling and trapping Luka in the middle of the court the whole night. Mavs have 2 goals tomorrow, too limit Luka and force AD as much as possible no matter what result is.

It looks that Lakers changed their mind, everyone is playing tonight. Kinda risky decision.

Well, i don't see Luka so angry right now... Maybe he is just calm and understand that go away from Harrison and the Mavericks was the better thing for him.

That's fine. He'll finish on 20 assists and the Lakers will win by 30.

Suns are getting blown out on their homecourt, it's over, Mavs will be the 10th seed and will play the Kings for the 9/10 play in.

Re: RS 24/25 - Mavs vs Lakers (Wed 7:30PM)
He wants to be in Dallas still. The circumstances don't allow him to come back to Dallas now or probably ever but I really don't think he's taking to LA. From a non American standpoint it feels like a soulless and transactional city. When I think of that place I think of the nightmare that is the movie Mulholland Drive. It's a place where your hopes and expectations go to die. As a tourist who's been there a few times Santa Monica and Venice Beach is the only thing I like about LA. New York is a thousand times better. Get out of there Luka!

Me too but I do feel for AD over all of this Luka stuff.
I mean, how bad would it feel to be on the wrong end of the worst trade in NBA history?
That will be what he is most remembered for in Dallas.

+1 on NYC. I feel gets dirty there though with all the trash sometimes.
What do you think are the chances Luka lands in Demver and does not sign an extension with LA?
I think LA being "America's team" makes him very marketable. But that is a double edged sword. Lakers have twice (maybe thrice) the fan population of the Mavs.

Stick a fork in it. Suns are done.
Mavs need to lock in whatever talent they have left (without Kyrie) and focus on the play in. I understand there will be kinks that need to be ironed out with spacing and such with AD and the 2 other bigs. These things normally get addressed with a full training camp with AD-specific plays called for him. Right now I guess it's just to see where everyone fits (including PJ) and who gets shipped out in the summer. Anytime you add an All NBA talent, you will need to move some pieces around. I think AD has done a good job fitting in given the circumstances and with half the team gone with injuries. I trust that will be better with a full camp. But sitll without Kyrie, getting a lot of wins will be tougher.
Another thing to note is AD and PJ sort of play the same position. If PJ cant guard quicker wings, then i think inevitably he gets shipped out. Gafford presents spacing issues with AD too. There will be options in the summer beyond KD. I dont like KD for his age and contract, but he's still a bucket getter at his age and passes well off double teams. Makes plays etc. If he only had a smaller contract that would have been a no brainer.

This question deserves to be talked about more. It's the elephant in the room for the Lakers. They want to sweep it under the rug. Nothing to see here. It's supposedly the main reason why they didn't give the Mavericks more in the deal, right? Because how sure could they be that Luka would resign? And now that they've got him it's 100% a sure thing he is resigning, apparently.
I think it's more like 60/40. Luka resigning makes sense for his branding and it's the likely option. The Lakers mystique is a real pull for most athletes but I just don't think he gives a damn given all we know from the years we've followed his career. He was deeply loyal and I'm sure he took that trade very personally. The Lakers were the other team that was apart of the deal made in the shadows that ripped him away from his hometown in the middle of the night. Everything since has indicated he feels sick over this and doesn't understand it. That photo of him getting off the plane in LA... the man looked like he'd been crying for hours. If he believes for a second that Nico Harrison was helping a buddy out over in LA or that there was some form of collusion, I think he goes and breaks the league with Denver or San Antonio. He owes absolutely nothing to the Lakers organization. If LeBron declines and they can't find a good 2nd option for Luka as soon as the end of next season, the Lakers could be in trouble.
