I don't understand why it's ok to curse fans but not refs. I mean, just like with the police, I really don't think only because you are in a position of authority you get protection against being cursed. I understand why this happens, human nature and all, but don't think that should be acceptable. It's either wrong to do against anyone or not.

ps: I'm not saying people should go on rampage and start cursing left and right, we should learn to be respectable to everyone. I just also don't like the inconsistency and turning some people imune to things others aren't just because they find themselves in position of power.

Next time when Adam Silver and the NBA Look for a reason why the ratings for the games are bad ,they might wanna Look at how the refs are blowing
I'm not Just talking about this game but in general... the Players aren't allowed to show any emotions (which is actually a fun part of the game...the trash talking,taunting,...)...the criteria is Just not the same for everybody...and while nobody wants to see the whinning some Players get away with "murder" and others get T'd up for no reason(I remember Tatum getting a couple bull calls while Donkeyy Green can do what the hell he wants)...80's and 90's games would have been cancelled because there would be no Players left to Play the game....the whole game/society has become too soft...and those three "zebras" have too much power and no responsibility to answer for the obvious bad calls(like I Said, there's been a lot of them in recent years)

From this angle it doesn't look like the ref was right in front of the fan. Looks like Luka is pointing out way more to the right of the ref. But again, might just be an awkward point of view.

Luka was talking to a fan. Why is it being ignored in the answer?

The point is also that it depends on the ref and then it’s hard for players to know what’s okay or not.

It would be nice if he said what Luka said and we didn’t have to guess.

Also, he clearly wasn’t looking at the ref the second time. It was the perception of the ref and not reality. It’s the heat of the moment, Luka is responding to a fan and the ref was running in that direction and wasn’t even looking at Luka’s face.

It would be nice to give tech for blatant flopping too. I'm sure you would be excited for Dort being thrown out every game.

In the end all that doesn't matter, OKC will be thrown out by Luka again this year. ;)

Referees being stars won't saved Nba. I kinda doubt that people want watch them making big plays. Fans want to watch basketball stars deciding games, I believe even Sga would rather win fairly. Not homers like you of course.

If we’re doing flopping techs, Luka goes first.

You didn't watch super strong Dort falling every time Luka touched him? It was embarrassing. Dort might be the biggest flopper in the league, considering how is he built.

Luka smiles or laughs - tech. Cade points out that the ref made a mistake in not lining players up for a FT - tech. Tatum has a single clap away from the ref - tech. Luka does complain a lot, but this is just kind of ridiculous. No one should be ejected for those 2 plays.

Yeah Draymond.. the guy that has more techs than anyone else in the NBA in the last decade, can't keep getting away with missed techs.

Luka getting a tech is absolutely absurd. Referees who make games about themselves or their ego should be replaced immediately.

He's the biggest homer in this forum, he would be ok with Luka getting 25 games ban. ;)

LegendOfSalmons wrote:Whole lotta whining in here. “Boo hoo, the refs are out to get the Lakers because Luka got ejected!” all over one game where the Lakers had a 37-20 free throw advantage. Seriously? Miss us with that nonsense. Give it a rest and take the whining elsewhere. It’s so rare for the Lakers to be on the wrong end of such a bad call that when it finally happens, the fans act like the sky is falling, and even other fans are taken aback. The second the refs don’t call things their way, the fans throw a meltdown like it’s the apocalypse and I bet they'll hold onto this as justificaiton that they're not favored by the refs.

All these words to say absolutely nothing.

How about players just shut up and play basketball...stop running your mouth all the time and trying to "show up others"...these are the exact reasons why my love for the game has diminished drastically in the last 10+ years. Just shut up and play and enjoy the fact that you make millions for playing a damn GAME!

Ridiculous call.

Let the NBA know. Select the "officiating" topic. https://contact.nba.com/contact-nba/

Absolutely not

I wouldn’t settle for anything less than 50

You would instantly stop watching the NBA if that were the case.
As good as an idea of just getting rid of the refs and call your own fouls. Would be popcorn worthy anyway.

Learn how AI works before shooting up your idea to the gills.

AI is based on parameters and you can apply "weights" so the nba could literally have a toggle for how much physicality should be allowed.

Humans are also special. Build the best and most robust system you can. Someone will work endlessly to make that thing brick harder than an old school toaster oven.

You think 10 years ago players were just playing silently?

It's entertainment, people want to see emotions. That's a big part of a product. But I doubt very much that fans want referees to decide outcome.

But let's say they prohibit them to talk, what about fans then, toss everyone out, who says something to a player? Or do you believe that fans are paying tickets for humiliating players, who should be silent?

I never said they weren't, just said that my love for the game has diminished in that 10 years. Players have always talked trash and yelled at refs, since the dawn of time, however it hasn't gotten WAYYYYY worse in recent (since about 2000) years...

I watch basketball to watch basketball, not to watch grown men yelling and crying at every call. Fans should be thrown out too, but much harder to police the 20,000+ fans then it is the 10-20 players you are in close proximity too.

You should watch Euroleague. Players mostly behave there, fans on the other hand are crazy as it gets.

I honestly can't understand, why player shouldn't talk back to a fan, who's yelling at him? It's highly unlikely that Luka started conversation with the fan.

Come on. Luka is far from the worst flopper in the NBA. You don’t believe that.

Dort flopped 2-3 times in yesterday’s game.
