I'm calling it now, Chris Paul To Orlando as President Of Basketball Operations/Head Coach!

Post#1 » by T-Cat » Tue Apr 8, 2025 3:56 pm

With the potential front office changes in my opinion coming for the Orlando Magic this summer, I can see us offering Chris Paul an amazing opportunity to join our family!

We could offer him the President Of Basketball Operations and Head Coach position. His knowledge and understanding of the game at the highest level would be beneficial to this franchise!

We probably will have to offer him a deal like this in order to pry him away from returning to San Antonio Spurs, either as a player or future coach (especially with Greg Popvovich possibly retiring).

Well it worked for Chauncey Billups and his 116-209 career record.

He didn't go to Michigan

His BBIQ is off the charts, but he's known to be kind of a jerk...I don't know if he's got the patience to deal with these kids. Basically, the anti-Mose.

So offer Chris Paul president of basketball operations and head coach position just because? It may be worth it to a bottom feeder team where he can get experience but not here. This is a gamble ownership ain’t taking, whatever moves are made next are too important. If anything I rather offer HC position to SVG.

We only know Chris Paul the basketball player, and most competitive people have an ego/ confidence about them that's misunderstood.

Micheal Jordan was a jerk to some players in practice I assume, but his competitive spirit was astounding to watch.

I think it's more likely we see Joe Ingles join the coaching staff as an offensive coordinator than us seeing CP3 start his coaching career here. I just don't see our ownership and FO being bold enough to try a new face like that as HC if the team is trying to pivot into real contention.

I would definitely take him as a PG but no way should we give him the keys to everything.

Alex Martins DID interview Charles Barkley years back.

But they're two totally different people lol.

And if I had to choose, I'm taking the Chuckster.

This is a strange take. There is absolutely nothing linking Paul and the Magic (other than that infamous Chris Paul trade thread from Dwight's prime on this board lol). Also, that is a steep jump to go from player to president in an offseason. If you said coach then that would be more plausible.

With Chris Paul having so many options this summer, why would he really leave San Antonio, unless you offer him a deal that was too good? They have one the best organizations and a dominant player in Wemby!

A franchise like the Detroit Pistons offered Stan Van Gundy the President Of Basketball Operations/Head Coach in 2014 because that franchise thought he could help bring similar results to Detroit after the success of he had in his Magic days that ended in 2012!

Today's players and organization respond to proven winners, excluding the situation that happened with Michael Malone yesterday in Denver!

Stan was a completely different deal...career coach, multi-year assistant with MIA...CP3 isn't Bill Russell and this certainly isn't the same NBA as 1966

0% chance Mosley is not the head coach next season.
