The current core feels like the one that will force Ressler into spending some money. Trae is Trae, and you can't justify moving on from guys like Dys(Steals champ/All NBA defender), JJ(Produces and looks like a potential AS), and Zacch(1st overall pick who showed a lot of promise). Mo showcased a good amount of what he can be coming off of a bench. OO(whos range is starting to become a factor) rotating with a bigger body behind him would give us a pretty strong center duo that can matchup. Really don't think we've had a group this individually talented for Ressler to actually consider spending over the cap/Aprons.
If Tony doesn't pony up to keep the core together and/or spend on an upgrade, then I will be leading the pitchfork brigade to run his arse out of town and boycotting every game.
Ressler isn't spending money. Him and his media mouthpiece Koonin will say they will spend if the right deal comes across, all while finding every way to to cut costs.
I think they've had an easy out the past few years. I wouldn't ask them to spend money to keep a core John Collins, Deandre Hunter, and Kevin Huerter together, and they didn't obviously. Like two of the guys have gone on to not do a whole lot more, while the other is coming off the bench for the #1 seed, but he was doing that with us.
Now though, I see a core of guys that still need developing, but a lot more promise than before. If they started cutting costs with this group, then yeah, the whole spending money for the right deal talk is a bunch of BS. I'm not saying my hopes are high, but I would join the crowd chanting for new ownership again.
