Despite the firing of Malone, I doubt we'll see Thibs gone in the next couple months.

Based on his time Iin Utah, here, and CLE. He's well regarded and before someone becomes a HC you have to give them a shot?

Every HC is an assistant typically at one point.

Other teams misery makes me feel better when we're down.

Imagine waking up to your team in disarray and making your generationally talented C disgruntled over maga porter Jr. Rough times

Sure, but his expertise is usually cited around player development, not X's and O's. He hasn't been hailed as an architect of a team's system on either side of the ball, for example.

I'm not criticizing your preference. Just wondering what you've heard or seen to arrive there.

I think with anything being receptive to analytics would be there. Atkinson was cited for his player development and not necessarily X's and O's either and look what he has developed in Brooklyn and CLE.

Sometimes its just a feeling. But currently we aren't playing modern NBA basketball. We don't shoot enough 3's...we don't guard the 3 ball well enough. I want a younger mind more receptive to modern day NBA....the old heads are stuck in there ways.

Mike Malone as Thibs replacement, would be great. It’s more a question on if the Knicks will be looking for a new coach.

We should be looking for a younger coach that's sitting on a bench that's hungry.

Look at Daigneault for example, who knew him before he was the head coach? Maybe diehard Thunder fans that followed their G-league team, but that's about it, same for Mazzulla. The Thunder do things on defense that nobody else is doing, they'll start in a zone and then switch to man to man within that same possession

Malone is cool, but he looked completely hopeless anytime Jokic was on the bench.

He was playing Pickett over 20 minutes during the losing streak. We wish Thibs was begrudingly playing the kids over 20 minutes a game. It sounds like the GM wanted to do a rebuild and Malone was trying to repeat.

So Malone and Thibs actually have some history (son of the late former Knicks assistant Brenden Malone). Would be awesome if he did a Robert Saleh and just jumped on our bench for the remainder of the season as a consultant.

Let’s be honest, if we move on from thibs we are getting Rick Brunson as coach lol
